Attaching the email I received... this is how I found out that proximity to SC overrides order date, price/packages, etc. .. even though R1Ts have been delivered in and around my city ... ?

All I can say is that after 1+yrs of routing for Rivian and the R1S .. I/we Feel betrayed.

Bummer for you but clearly a lessened learned during the R1T deliveries and struggles with servicing the vehicles outside of a good service center radius.

In another thread someone proposed its not necessarily how far you live from a service center, but also how busy a service center near you is. For example, someone may live 2 hours away from a service center that isn't that busy, and they may get a delivery over someone that lives near a busy service center.

So proximity to SC can also be a problem....got it

If we try to parse what we're seeing...
- R1T orders (large battery) have gotten decent windows, some moved up earlier than expected
- Max pack delayed to 2024
- Many but not all R1S delayed to 2024
- Some orders are pending Service Center or "full service" capability in the area

It seems to me that many of the orders are waiting for the Georgia plant to be operational - which Rivian has already said it planned to start production there in 2024.

Because of my situation I doubt this.
My Jan 22 R1T order got a window of Jan-Feb 23 - location is Irvine…which has the highest concentration of Rivians on the planet.

There’s no service center more busy than the ones down here and it didn’t delay my window.

The Georgia plant is supposed to be the R2 line.

I would be extremely surprised if they have that plant operational before 2026. They are being fought at every turn, so it will be a hard road for them. A sub started grading one sight and is already facing a law suit because of dirt runoff into the water.

Back in June 2022, my delivery window was communicated to be first half 2023. Today, it is listed as “2024”. Happy for those who got good news, but this is a delay well beyond what I expected.

The next 2 quarterly reports should be interesting. I wander if they are going to give any 2023 guidance in the 3rd qtr report in a couple of weeks or even in the 4th quarter probably 2nd week of February. Some of the 3rd qtr reports for several companies have held off on 2023 guidance so far.

Based on some of the dates we are seeing shared here, it almost seems like there may be a lot more focus on the EDVs for 2023 and they may be planning less than 50k R1 vehicles for 2023.

Their upcoming earnings calls will be interesting….

Ordered 6/19, new estimate 7-9/23, so going to be 4+ years... As with others, I'm a little frustrated, but also willing to keep up the wait, just for the sheer value of the pre-Mar22 price, which gets better the more we wait, and the more inflation kicks in. I'm guessing there might be another price increase in the new year? - hopefully early pre-orders will still be immune?

From what I’m seeing, including my surprising date that’s the same as yours, it seems Forrest green is a batch they’re making in December.

And at least one blue I guess. Was pretty surprised about the window but I think being close to Denver helps

I ordered around the same time with the same exact config..... Same time period.... Oh wellz I was hoping not 2024..... Did you get black or white dash? I opted to get white.

I went with the standard black wood dash board.
