North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, New Mexico, Louisiana, and West Virginia are still no go
Penn and New Jersey are ok to go?
And Montana, Nebraska, and Alaska are ok to have service, but are just too far with small populations for Rivian to set up right now.

At least that is how I read the situation. I am not a Rivian insider.

Don't forget to add eastern Washington and north Idaho to that list. There are some folks on here from Spokane, WA and Hayden, ID that I have come across with the "processing" update.

I will be getting a virtual address and changing my reservation address to a location near Seattle. Hoping that will get me a delivery date with the January refresh

4/19 configuration: RIT, Quad + Max Pack, Ocean Coast, Camp Kitchen, roof rails, manual tonneau cover. Later upgraded to power tonneau and added Rivian charger.

Delivery window: no month, 2024 (without camp kitchen or tonneau cover, which is fine).

I had a chat today and found that changing to Dual Motor + Max would result in a price increase as this was only offered after the 3/1 price increase, so I won't do that.

Asked if she could give me any idea when I might be able to get a vehicle if I changed from Max to Large pack, and she said that they couldn't, that they never do manual updates -- and location doesn't play a role as I live in Illinois, 2.5 hours from Normal.

That seems shortsighted on their part. If I knew I was looking at a Jan-March 2023 delivery date by changing to Large pack I would probably do so. But without any assurance, why change the configuration?

So as it is I'll probably wait until the Quad + Max pack comes out. By that point I'll probably be able to compare the R1T to the Silverado and Cybertruck. That seems like a situation that is likely to result in a lot of lost sales.

Yes. There are many areas where Rivian will want to wait a bit to keep service easier for them and their staff. And to keep costs down.

Truthfully I totally understand it. Making a new vehicle is tough. Rolling it out nationwide is tough. Keeping it cost effective in the current down cycle and inflation is tough.

I'm not mad at Rivian. But I do think they could have made this more clear. Or, better yet, just take deposits from places they plan to deliver to. Then open it up later when they work out the service centers.

I agree that's my gripe. 6 years waiting and what you said could happen. After calling RIVIAN CS they have no answers. That is OK sort of but I will be looking at all the other PU TRUCK options coming to market. There will be several.

January 22 reservation R1T. December 22 - January 23 ETA. Just got prompt to lock in my configuration this morning and now just invited to begin my 8 steps!

PREORDERED 2018 bought RIVIAN STOCK pre IPO for over $ 10K now worth $4.4K and shafted. Yes I am bitter. Why ? lack of communication, random deliveries to people with 2022 reservations, eliminating options, charging more for other options, 6 years waiting, no service center in NJ .... I can keep going. I want the F'king truck! Stop the bull crap RIVIAN. You have a great product but whomever is making these bad decisions in your organization should be fired on the spot. You are not communicating to your long standing customers. Chevy, Ford and TESLA do this well. WAKE UP if you want to be a major player in the EV industry market.

• In an effort to move delivery date up as much as possible:
  • April 2022 - switched from ocean coast to black mountain interior after announcement of ocean coast supply issues
  • August 2022 - signed contract to purchase, making deposit non-refundable and allowing Rivian to add my order to list of guaranteed production prioritization (also did this is as IRA had not been passed and at the time it was looking like we might lose the $7,500 tax credit)
• Prior to 10/28/22, was never actually given a delivery range by my Rivian Guide

Switched multiple times between R1T and R1S in the past, but finally settled on the R1S early 2022 due to max pack production looking like it was going to be delayed (which we've obviously seen is now confirmed).

The wait for overlanding adventures continues...

Adventure, Glacier White, Ocean Coast, Large Pack, 21s, Spare Tire, No Tonneau Cover. However I do live in the Florida panhandle and therein lies the problem. Just received my email from Ford saying I can order my Lightning with Spring delivery, so hello Ford, and see you sometime in 2024 Rivian and flip it for at least a 15K profit, maybe more.

Same here adventure limestone 21 in spare. Ordered Apr 21, had a fist half 23 now 2024

Since it looks like you placed your order mid 2022 and you have not yet configured, you won’t get an estimate until you get to do that. Everyone who ordered prior to approximately March of this year got to immediately configure when they placed their orders. Some had estimates from day 1, others, including myself, just got their first estimate last week.

Hopefully they let you choose your options soon so you know what to expect!
