Died of old age during the wait
I finally heard back from Kyle/CS agent with the below and the difference between Launch vs Adventure and production hit makes absolutely no sense to me. Is anyone else coming across this? thoughts?
"Regarding the expected delivery timing, I want to mention that we are currently producing Launch Edition R1S, and the Adventure Package R1S (what you have) has not entered production yet. This is why you are seeing other vehicles delivered, even to preorder holders with a later preorder date but have not been assigned a vehicle and VIN yet."
I think they are saying:

Launch Editions get delivered before adventure package. If you have an adventure package, a LE order with a later preorder date then yours will be delivered before your adventure (and may already have a VIN), because launch editions are made first.

This is what we all expected to happen, given that one of the LE perks is priority delivery (though there’s some LE/Adventure overlap). Did you expect preorder date to trump LE priority?

I have a dual motor R1T with scheduled delivery of July-September 2023

I was thinking the dual motors would be delivered in 2024 so I am caught a little unprepared but trying to see if I can get everything in order to receive delivery of it this next year.

I wouldn't do too much prep work... Rivian has never manufactured a production vehicle the their Endoro motors, we've never seen one or even a review of one. At this point it's pretty much vaporware, I would be shocked if they actually started delivering dual motor trucks without any delays.

My thoughts exactly, but why would I get a delivery window for one so soon? I just find it odd unless they are ready to start delivering them. At this point I am just taking it as Rivian being a little too optimistic about their Dual Motor delivery timeframes.

To give a little context this was their email response to my inquiry about not having a delivery window, says Processing on the config page, on a Nov 2019 R1S order, whereas others in NYC area are getting a date range... so their LE has priority feedback feels a little like a pivot... this is a continuation to CS's prior feedback of Sept in an email saying 1st half of 2023 window... Is there a way to reach someone live in the Rivian camp and figure out how I can spend my money and buy a truck after best case 4 years of waiting?!

What's your config?

I have a Nov 2019 order and live in the NYC area as well. Got updated to Feb/March 2023. I also have FE which we know is an interior they are tackling next.

The state has little say in what business Is set up on indigenous land.
The silver lining is it’s another win for decolonization
And there are a bunch of pueblos...as well as the Navajo nation.

Are there any solid plans for a service center in NM at this point? So “processing“ basically means delayed indefinitely. There is obviously already a center in AZ so I think they are just giving you the standard line about ”any” change delaying your delivery further. If I were in your shoes I would switch to an AZ address if you have that as an option.
I can switch to an Arizona address for delivery but would want to register it in NM. They know that and they're worried about having to service a vehicle that far away. I'm four hours from Phoenix and I live 20 miles from the AZ border. CS has been told to say that almost any change in address means delays so I'm afraid that I'll get stuck with a later date because they don't really care where they deliver it's more about servicing it. I think they are planning on using mobile units and they need to build that up. There are places in AZ that are farther away than I am.

They updated you after the "processing estimate?" You now have a delivery window?

I'm very interested, since I have an October 2019 R1S order, and live close to a service center.

Still waiting for a response to my email from last Friday. Sent a followup this morning.

the other way and as of this writing I don't have a window. So fast forward to mid-Sept in an email from CS they indicated the 1st half of 2023 delivery, and then when Rivian portal added the delivery estimator to the configuration page, that shows Processing! does that make sense?

Ocean coast is pushing you back a little bit more than me.

Yes and no.

I think we're in the same boat. I had a "first half of 2023" delivery window (pushed back from Oct-Dec 2022).

Last Friday I got the "Processing Estimate" with verbiage suggesting that I'm indefinitely delayed until they finalize plans for a service center in my area.

The weird part is that I'm less than 5 miles from an open, active service center (Memphis). I've been there, and most of the vehicles in for service were brought from Nashville, which is 200 miles to the east.

There is at least one person here with an R1T delivered months ago, who has a 2021 R1S order and a delivery window.

I have an October 2019 order, and no window at all anymore, just a promise of an update in January.

I sent an email the day the new estimates came out, and sent a followup a week later. Still no response to either one in spite of the "we usually respond within one business day" on the website.

Rivian's communication is simply awful and maddening. If they don't have the bandwidth to respond to emails in a week or so, they should just say that. If certain colors or configurations are no longer planned for production, they should just say that (to be fair, they were open about the ocean coast delays, and the explore configuration).
