I’ve never heard that sound at any height on my R1T.

Only get it in all-purpose standard height when stomping on it in a left hand turn like pulling out of a driveway onto a busy road. Seems like it's the driver side rear.

Rear correct? Mine does this and I was CERTAIN it was a unseated shaft spline into rear drive unit. It was not. It has been thoroughly inspected by myself and service center. Cannot determine the cause or what's going on. Loaner I had also did it but to lesser extent. Only happens in high setting, under heavy acceleration. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all. It's Intermittent. Happens less at temps under 20 F. In almost all instances you can only replicate it the first mile or two of driving...and then it will go away as if something has warmed up. Drivers side for sure. Only speculation but think maybe has something to do with rear drive disconnect. But again, just pure guess. At this point, it's not a concern for me. If you takes yours in an they find something, let us know or even PM me.

I have had it in two loaners. Didn't have it in my first truck. Picking up the new truck on tuesday and I really hope it doesn't have the noise. Service manager said he tested a bunch he had in the shop and it was common. My wild guess was the expansion spline in the half shaft, and possibly not the CV to Drive connection. Sure sounds an awful lot like a failing CV though. Good to see early responses have it absent in some trucks.

I get the faintest noise if everything is shut off (radio, HVAC, windows up) and I accelerator slowly from a stop. I think this is simply gear lash in the system.

No noise under normal driving or hard acceleration. Nothing like the video from the OP.

My Model X used to make a similar noise under hard acceleration and apparently it was quite common with the Model S/X. Many needed to have their CV joints replaced. My Model X used to torque steer like crazy as well.

My car has it. The loaner with 1000mi they gave me also has it. I think the angle for the half-shaft is too extreme for torque under heavy acceleration at a "High" height. In my opinion torque and max speed/acceleration should be limited in High as it is in Highest

Be interesting to see if you do on your new truck. I suspect more trucks have it than is reflected in this poll. Even people who think they don't...might. It's very specific circumstances and you basically have to launch the truck in highest suspension. Very few people do that. Me included, I only noticed it after mobile recall and my truck was left in highest setting. Gunned it coming out of my driveway.....then thunk thunk thunk thunk. In daily driving even in high suspension setting, never hear it.

Didn't hear that noise in either my truck or a loaner.
