For the West coasters, my guide told me there are no incoming shipments of new vehicles this way for the remainder of the year.. so pretty bluntly said dont hold out hope, if you want your config its going to be in 2023 (YMMV). I never received access to the shop after asking (nicely) twice over two months. Not sure if OC is slowing down deliveries, I would say if anything, it might be easier to get OC R1T over BM as the R1S is only being made with BM so some material(s)/ resources may be directed that way.

I hope i got some incorrect info and more people on the West are able to get matched before the end of year, but I’m going to enjoy the holidays and stop thinking about it. :)
Just, ... <Sigh>

When my 8-step unlocked my guide told me the truck was in Normal and it would be 3-6 weeks and a Dec delivery was not possible. That was 12/14, and apparently it showed up in Austin on 12/19 … so take what you guys are hearing with a grain of salt and be ready for delivery if your 8-Step is open (got caught out on financing thinking I had more time).

I was in same boat: I could pick up my R1T in Denver Friday or Saturday. Weather just too chancy on Friday, and Saturday is Christmas Eve and I didn't want to have to rush it to get home in time for family stuff (plus Saturday gonna be cold as crap too). I'm getting on the 28th. It hurts to wait, but I want a nice day to learn it and not feel rushed to get home
Same here, site only showed 12/24 & 12/26 availability for delivery, had my guide push it to 12/28.

Anyone here who matched have their truck get held up at the factory? Mine is on hold currently. Assume its a QC issue that was caught before shipping.

I suspect they may have trucks at SC’s but they are metering the notification of VIN and scheduling deliveries to help the SC’s manage output. I know if my truck was at the SC, and I was waiting for them to work through backlog or something I’d probably be hounding them.

Just like Tesla that is upping the discounts at year end, I suspect that Rivian is trying to deliver every vehicle they can to make 2022 look as good as possible in terms of deliveries and making the share holders happy. Last night they added 2 more vehicles to the shop (there was a single yellow one in there for a week). I snagged a midnight one and it said delivery by 12/30/2022 (not sure that is going to happen), but I just finished steps 1-7 and I am waiting on the wire to clear so I can get to step 8. I am in the PDX area.

There was the previously mentioned yellow one and a limestone in the shop when I picked mine. I no longer have access to view what is left.

So I got access to the R1 shop 12/21 in the afternoon. I picked one out right away, locking in VIN 161XX. Thinking it was already built and I could schedule factory pickup next week. WRONG! Guide told me 12/22 in the afternoon it was already lined up for deliver to my service center and would be ready in 4-6 weeks, but could arrive sooner. I hadn't finished step 2 yet and they are already lining up shipping to service center? I also asked about self registering because several Rivian owners have commented about long delays getting tags and I don't want to sell my current truck until the new one comes in, then switch plates over. Guide said no, delays are states fault and self registering is against state regulation. But guide had my state wrong, didn't matter, "against state regulation" Not sure if what I am being told is reality or what is the easiest and quickest answer from the person I am talking to. I wanted to make things faster and easier for both Rivian and me but I guess I need to work on my power of persuasion.

New timeline update: confirmed R1 shop 12/21, told 4-6 weeks ETA. Ended up 4-6 days! ready delivery 12/27, scheduled delivery 12/30 because it took me a couple days to finish up financing. Wow!

Picked up 164xx at the factory on 12/27 (ordered 1/11/22, VIN assigned 12/19). Truck is awesome. As far as some of the common nits & niggles reported by others, I have to say my truck doesn't seem to have any of these (touch wood). Alignment is perfect, no wind noise, no drive shaft noise/tock, HVAC and defog/defrost work great, good panel fit, interior is perfect, app features work as expected, nav was great, etc. I did have to remove the camp speaker and fully charge it separately for it to come to life, but the manual tells you this is needed, so not an "issue" in my mind. Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself, but so far overall this thing has exceeded all expectations.

Factory tour was awesome. They are PUMPING these things out... massive quantities of R1Ts, R1Ss & EDVs everywhere. I have to believe they will be dang close to hitting their 25k production goal and likely exceed it. Everyone was super nice & clearly engaged (even my 11 yr old noticed "everyone was so positive Dad"). For those still waiting, hang in there... they're cranking 'em out.

Wow, Congrats! You and @av8or (both from PDX area) got your steps in the same week! :like:
I don't want to hold my breath, but kept wondering why I don't have a Lock/Guide Contact.

Hope Restored; 2023 New Year looks bright again

s00n…….the 8 steps and vin didn’t turn into a quick delivery. My guide Alicia said the truck was built and in Normal waiting for transport, 4-6weeks. I’m going out of town on 1/14 for 2 weeks, so I’m thinking February which is the beginning of my window.

Im betting you will be very soon.

I’m also in PDX and got the configuration confirmation email on Tuesday, 12/27 along with a VIN and guide (Kelleen). My guide also said my R1T is being loaded for transport so it will be ā€œsome weeks.ā€ I’ll post here if I hear anything sooner. Anyone in Oregon able to advise on their experience for delivery time once their VIN is assigned?
