Just FYI, if you are actively looking at the R1 Shop, today may be the today to just grab yours. I am in SoCal and when I was surfing the shop, I saw at least 50 R1Ts with all kinds of colors and options.

Wonder if they’d be end of the year 2022 builds/VINs. At this point now that the tax credit is on the 2023 rules (with some extension till March) I’d want to make sure I’m getting a 2023 build. With the shop you can’t see VIN’s until the vehicle is chosen correct me if I’m wrong?

don’t have shop access anyways so guess I can’t get tempted.

It's what is in transit to your service center and not assigned to customer. Things happen fast after you pick one from R1 shop.

VIN year doesn't matter for the tax credit.

Yea that’s not what I meant. I meant for resale, not that I have any immediate plans. Personally I would prefer a 2023 VIN now that we are in 2023. Getting a 2022 VIN will have more immediate value loss than a 2023.

I thought some members on the forum already reported their recent delivered R1Ts with 2023 VIN#. I would assume the reason for these many R1Ts popping in the R1 Shop was due to recent ramped up productions to meet the 25k goal.

They have but with around 4k vehicles not yet delivered there will still be a lot of 2022 vehicles being delivered. I got my R1S VIN last week and it is a 2022 that will be delivered sometime in the next 4 weeks or so.

I am also seeing a few R1Ts in the shop with powered tonneau cover. Is Rivian finished redesigning the tonneau cover? I know they weren't delivering with the cover for a while even if you opted in for it.

Could be they were vehicles that needed rework for some issues.

Correct, you can not see the VIN's of the Shop Vehicles.
If you want to see if the vehicle(s) you're interested in are 2023 VIN's.. you have to ask your guide to look in to it, they can see the VIN's.

FWIW- I just asked my guide today... no 2023 VIN's in my (NY area) Shop.

In my case, my 8-Steps opened today (hooray!!) and that VIN is a 2023 model
