Really weird some PN's are coming in the 18k range and some are singe digit thousands. I am a little confused on the VINs coming out of Normal lol.. But yea seems like a 2023, wonder why the Guides are saying the shops are all 2022s.It’s the PN. I’m in the 18,000’s
In my case, i am switching to an R1S. Goodluck!4 here now. Only thing I’m crossing my fingers for is a big Saturday dump since they just released so many invites. A few of the biggest ones have been on a Saturday…. Fingers crossed and stay strong for what you want, but don’t just stare at 2 possible ones like a true asshole like I did for a day and a half…
Why the switch? In my case, i am switching to an R1S. Goodluck!
Bahahaha, that’s how I got in the shop in the first place! Accepted my fate….. have to have a truck all the damn time. Really prefer the S, been waiting since Nov 20’, but when I was throwing my trash cans in the bed 4 days ago, along with our Christmas tree, and a busted range top. I made my peace. Reluctantly. In my case, i am switching to an R1S. Goodluck!
Yea.. oddly enough when I asked my guide to look up a truck for me in the shop they asked ME for the VIN to look up… I’m like I can’t see it, that’s your job ?You Guide has the ability to see the VIN of the R1T's in "your" Shop if you're concerned regarding purchasing a 2022 VIN vs a 2023 VIN.
I hope the PN's in the 18k range are just typos in the Shop. Otherwise Rivian could be in violation of US regulations for VIN Requirements (49 CFR Part 565).Really weird some PN's are coming in the 18k range and some are singe digit thousands. Hit the question mark and start a chat. Got me scheduled a test drive like 30 mins later, but it wasn’t till about a month later. That was mid last year though.I just got access as well to the shop but don't have a guide and have never been contacted for a test drive. I emailed c/s but is there a better way to contact them to set one up?
The plain language means it is a sequential number assigned by the manufacturer. It does not say sequentially produced . . . .I hope the PN's in the 18k range are just typos in the Shop. Otherwise Rivian could be in violation of US regulations for VIN Requirements (49 CFR Part 565).
"(positions 12 through 17) shall represent the number sequentially assigned by the manufacturer in the production process"

WOW adventure R1s access to shop . . . . They must be bookingI got access too! Super excited until I didn’t find anything close to my configuration (ADV, El Cap, BM w/leather dash, 20 ATs and a reinforced belly). Nothing in El Cap, nothing with a reinforced belly. Waiting patiently-ish for next delivery window email.
long time lurker, first time poster.
Been reported before. They batch build (apparently) leaving a decent number of vehicles without exact marches to current orders so they place them in the shop for people who have existing orders and are within the delivery time frame’ish to pick something for a possibly earlier delivery. What’s the reason for the shop? Are they vehicles that been repaired or did not pass inspection? Because, I can’t imagine with 90k+ orders, they can’t find a match.
