I might be a bit of an optimist, but I think Rivian is creating a new category of truck owners with their R1T. Recreational outdoor aspirational owners. These aren’t people who plan on using their trucks for work primarily, but more for recreational use with family/friends. I’m big on the idea that the outdoors is sort of the next frontier for people.

So, I think the R1T can expand the pie, not necessarily about taking away from others.

I suppose the cybertruck fits in the same category. But, every unofficial survey I’ve done has one weakness for this truck: hardly any women like it. Don’t know about your households, but for big purchase items like a car, I’d want my spouse to be happy with the purchase, and not be embarrassed sitting in one.

And yes, my 200k production number includes EDVs.

New poster, new investor here.

I've just starting to invest in RIVN, and my plan is to continue to buy into the descent until it finds a bottom. For what it is worth, I've already priced in further price drops into my purchase order plans. I have a few limit orders at set lower prices to accumulate shares, each triggering at different prices if the price drops.

Usually each time I try this, with my luck they never trigger and I miss the chance to establish a healthy position before the price rises. So if my luck holds the same as in the past, that will be good news for everyone else who already holds shares. =)

$18.10 +$1.87 (+11.522%) in the 24 hours since I made this post above.

I rest my case. LOL!

I'm still buying. Have come to accept that Rivian is probably not making the right truck for *my lifestyle*, but they're making a product they believe in and that is ideally suited for *other people's lifestyles*.

Figure with 20+ years to retirement, I can afford to be a bit speculative with my stock purchases. That said, Motley Fool is hot garbage. ?

If Rivian runs into short on cash or trouble in ramping up, similar to Tesla (was trying to sale itself to Apple)

Apple is unlikely to buy Rivian, unless it feels the opportunity to sell its own car is bigger than the value of CarPlay.

TSLA pulling up RIVN. Amazing the rally from Jan 1 out of Tesla.
Nah, RIVN's run today has to do with short swaps, not TSLA.
