2023 Model Year Confirmed on VIN#

I finally got my 8-steps today (June 2019 pre-order)! Very exciting. I received a VIN and the model year code is P, which corresponds to 2023. Not sure if that's been confirmed elsewhere, but it looks like current production will be the updated model year.

That is correct. If it has a P you have a 2023.

In addition, Progressive (my insurance provider) doesn't have the 2023 R1S in their system yet. Will take a few days before they can add the vehicle to their system and provide proof of insurance needed for Step 4 of 8.

I have progressive. At least by the time I get mine, they will have figured this out.

A tip - don’t complete your insurance and payment until you have a delivery date. No reason to pay for what could be a few weeks or months of insurance and interest waiting for the vehicle.

My R1S shipped in late December with a low 2023 VIN. I picked it up last Saturday.

Legally they can't build vehicles with a 2022 Model Year in 2023.
