@ironpig is there a way to find out build date for my VIN?
I don’t know. Someone here might know, but I don’t think it’s ever listed anywhere in paperwork etc. usually you can just narrow down a general range of time.

most vehicles have a door sticker with a “Date of Manufacture." If you have the vehicle you can check there, if you don't you can wait until you do.

I think you will like the Canyon Red. We switched from Max pack Forest Green to Red Canyon in late November. Got our truck in very early December and have no issues so far. We love it. We did 21's as we live in an area with not a lot of chargers so wanted as much range as possible.
I have seen a few, I love it. It's the same spec I had for the R1S. Wouldn't have gotten any other color.

Will pick up my R1T with PN0006XX in a couple of days. Any conjecture about what might be different enough to cause the number sequence reset?

I’m thinking the year. 2023 vs 2022.

According to the Rivian VIN decoder, the flip from NN to PN is supposed to denote the change from 2022 to 2023.

It says it is a 2023. Nothing in the description looks different from a 2022 model. I'll ask when I pick it up.

I think we can expect minor changes later in the year.

Something is not accurate because I picked up PN0187xx from the shop on Monday.

Hasn't left Normal yet, and guide said it was going through final checks because it was fresh off the line when whomever backed out.

No, no, you mean something is not "Normal". (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

I received a PM from a person who had a theory that Rivian reset their R1T sequence when they rolled from 2022 to 2023, built a few hundred vehicles, then resumed the previous sequence. He had a very reasonable sounding scenario where this might happen. I'll respect his desire to not send this thread off into a different direction than it's intent, so I won't repeat it here.

You can now resume your regular programming.

Check the manufactured label, sounds like a December build.

Maybe they made a mistake with the 2023 VINs and no one’s caught it yet so they’re just moving forward with a reset version and another with a continuation from numbering from last year ?
