Ugh, I foolishly kicked the update off knowing it'd finish probably only 15 minutes before I have to head to the city for a tattoo appointment, and it threw some sort of error in the app and looks like it might be stuck on 'preparing update' now. Really hoping it continues or I'm going to have an even more stressful day ?
EDIT: Finally showing progress so I guess as others have said the start is just really slow on this one.

I had the same butt-puckering indications last night, including the app error message. Preparing for a LONG time, then 0% for a LONGER time... Screens in the truck were completely off, charger was plugged in but not showing charging... Finally finished in a little over an hour and a half if I remember correctly.

I'm at 80% after 60 minutes of update, so yea, looking like maybe 75-90 minutes total.

First time I've triggered an OTA while overseas.....94 minutes.....successful. Truck had to be woken up remotely and it worked fine.

Maybe they're reading your posts and punishing you. (I got mine today and installed it).
It is actually is a little spooky how much "attention" is paid...here's an example:
I've driven past the same HOV lane entrance dozens of times since mid-November without getting on. (No preferential treatment for EVs in HOV lanes in Texas). About 4 of these trips have been when a destination had been entered and I was getting directions.
Never once did it direct me to the left lane to enter the HOV lane...until now. Last weekend (for the first time) I used the HOV lane (because I had a passenger) and it happened to be while I was en route to a programmed destination.
Today (only incidentally post-OTA update), I took the same route. I had no passenger. The routing told me to get into the HOV lane. I didn't.
On the return trip (on the same route in which I had NEVER had a passenger or used the HOV lane), it directed me to "Keep right to stay on I-10 West" ... never any mention of the HOV lane.
Clearly they didn't "overthink this" (which would have been fairly spooky), by having the algorithm determine that there was no other passenger in the car and that we were in Texas...and thereby avoid telling me to enter a HOV lane that I wasn't eligible to use.

How do you know if your fob has been updated?

Go back into the software update screen in settings on the truck and it should tell you if it needs an update.
