So now party lines decides what you drive? I'm confused...
To the Trump right wing, yes. EVs represent tree hugging, gun confiscating, Green New Deal progressive left wing values. It's such a ridiculous, ignorant, misinformed attitude. Half the people I know that drive EVs are Republicans and I know for a fact you'll find firearms on board in some of them. But ya can't talk sense to coal rollin' Bubba.

My buddy had a Model Y before Elon...went...nuts...and he got harassed all over rural places by dudes in pickups. I figured enough might not know what a Rivian is yet to have that, but guess I might be wrong.

You California, Colorado guys crack me up. Try driving an EV in a red state and you will get the picture. :)

And EVs are one thing, an electric pickup strikes a particular nerve, especially one that bests their king of the hill TRX.

So strange how much of one’s identity these people attach to their trucks

Not so strange... you can also assume a whole bunch of demo info any early adopter EV owner, right?

If you are concerned, put a fake grill vinyl sticker and cover the light bar. No one will know. Not at speed anyway.

It is sad to see people getting worked up about others cars. It's not like they are made in a country of concern.

well it must be confusing to some. I read about some of the nutters against the GA Rivian plant think Rivian is a Soros operation (he was an early investor). I wonder if their heads exploded now that Soros has mostly sold out of Rivian and has been buying into Tesla.

I drive in rural TN, that's about as red as you can get. Most of the comments I get are positive. I have a couple people here or there try to roll coal on me but it always winds up on them as I get past them way quicker than they think I can. I haven't had a TRX try me yet, but that's probably because most of those guys know I'm faster.

I mean, how does RAM think they’re going to sell any meaningful number of EV trucks, if their current customer base act this way?
Trump voters and the current class of republicans don't have a problem with flip flopping as long as it matches up with whatever talking points they get from Fox News. They'll change their tune as soon as they are told that they are allowed to like EVs.

It's not the place for politics. The thread will be closed. Let's keep it EV focused.
