Hello! I'm looking to swap, seasonally (spring and fall) stock 20" AT and 21" A/S wheels and tires. With Telsa, changing the configuration is easy, via the UI. This doesn't yet exist on the Rivian. Given the regularity of tire swaps, what have you found to be the quick and easy path to have the truck's internal configuration updated to reflect actual tires it may be wearing?

I called the Rivian 855 number this morning and was told we still we need to go to a service center for tire configuration changes in the UI.

I just switched from 20s to 22s in a trade with another member, and I went the dodge ram route for my AT needs.

Mobile service is changing my computer next week to the 22s, and my second set of tires is 275/60/20 on the dodge wheels is nearly the same diameter. Quoted me $60.

In your situation, i would have Service change you to the stock 21 configuration in your computer and replacing the 275/65/20 stock Pirelli ATs with a 275/60/20 AT of your choice.

Update: My SC told me the following -

....There are a few options currently. 1. We swap wheels, update your UI but not the surround view. This is the cheapest quickest option and can be a “while you wait” appt. The stitching for your Birds Eye view will be a little wonky. 2. We make an appointment to swap, update UI and recalibrate the camera, this will be a little more costly and takes 1-2 days just based on current space constraints and floor space needed for the calibration...

I will likely go with option #2, but when I can get in is still being researched...

I first tried the App chat option - complete joke. They had no understanding of the request and kept thinking I wanted to change configuration of a new order, even though I clearly told them several times I have an R1T and gave them the VIN and account information. I suspect English is not their 1st or 2nd language....

I'm not sure it's language, or just a general lack of info?

I asked specifically about mobile service and was initially told "they should be able to update the firware when they swap the wheels". Then I said that I'd been told otherwise by different people and if there was any way to confirm. The next response was a luke warm "you probably have to go to the SC for that". I'm still not convinced. Hopefully someone (@Puttyandnapalm ?) can confirm one way or the other.

I spoke the the SC manager. The cameras need to be recalibrated in the shop. The truck is left overnight, so you can’t wait for it like a simple tire rotation. Don’t shoot the messenger!

It’s news to me about the cameras needing adjustment. I have my service document estimate saying “modify vehicle configuration” for a mobile appointment charging $60.

As shared above, there are two paths. The right one and the partial one. Looks like yours is for the latter.

My appt is next week, I’ll make sure to post here if there’s any issues after the “partial” pathway.

Does the $60 include mounting the wheels or just the software flash?

Looks like I'll be doing the third option and swapping them myself with no UI update. No way I am spending multiple days on tire swaps and traveling anywhere from 4-6 hours.

This is why I got 22's and am buying the 20" rims to put on 33" diameter tires so I have near identical circumference. Then swapping back and forth will be trivial.
