Waiting for evvva

Just came here to complain and get a few things off of my chest. I reserved an R1s Nov 2020 and I am still waiting... I have had my date extended multiple times...and I'm seeing my friends , who have ordered after me, get access to the R1s shop. Am I doing something wrong? Should I not be so nice to my guide ? He has done well at first but now I get no communication.
By the way , I have no idea how Rivian chooses delivery by location as I live 2.5 hours away from the manufacturing plant ; in a metropolitan area of 2.2 million people.
I recently saw an email from Rivian.....Woohooo, I thought. Nope, they want me to contact my senator in order to defeat legislation in their favor...Hmmmm, not gonna happen.

Then what is this pending legislation Rivian wants you to fight? I don't live there so I have no idea about your local politics, I barely know the ones going on where I do live.

We believe the direct sales of electric vehicles (EVs) are good for everyone. It means healthy competition in the car market, consumer choice and more jobs and educational opportunities in the rapidly growing EV industry.



Right now, Missouri law gets it right by allowing EV-only manufacturers like Rivian to obtain a dealer license, establish retail locations and conduct sales activity in the state. Unfortunately, a bill in the Missouri legislature would block Rivian from having a presence in Missouri.

We’re asking for your help to prevent this bill from passing the state legislature. To be clear: even if this bill passes, you can still buy a Rivian online and own one in the state and receive vehicle service, but Rivian would be blocked from conducting in-person sales in Missouri.

So you won’t support Rivian in blocking legislation that could mean there are fewer Rivians on the road in your state which means they would limit how many service options you have for the vehicle you are here complaining about not having yet?

OP says that his friends are getting shop access, but does not say if these friends are 5 miles away or 2000 miles away, same SC or different SC. Combined with obstinately refusing to help Rivian fight legislation which would negatively affect him, this post seems ..... weird.

" To be clear: even if this bill passes, you can still buy a Rivian online and own one in the state and receive vehicle service "....

They are currently building a service center 6 miles from my house

Do you honestly believe that the experience (and related service center expansion) will be as good in states where there are more hoops for Rivian to jump through?
