I was playing around today on the Rivian configurator. They continue to streamline option choices to help with production efficiencies.

The $3,850 “All Terrain Upgrade” includes 20" All-Terrain wheels, underbody protection and a matching spare tire. Add another $1k if you want the 20” darks.

Interesting something got less expensive. Previously going from regular all terrain 20s to the darks was a $1800 increase.

That all terrain upgrade is a pretty good deal even compared to pre price increase orders.

Saw this a couple days ago. Interesting thing to me is that if you don’t select the upgrade, you also can’t select AT wheels. I suppose this might be a way to bundle the most common items that they see folks ordering anyway. Also curious why this streamlining didn’t come with the usual Tony email. I feel robbed!

Such nonsense: "streamline option choices to help with production efficiencies" … surely most people understand this is utter bullshit, offensive marketing piffle. Surely people understand $1000 for a different tint of paint on the wheels is treating customers like simpletons. And yet, on it goes. $2000 for a different die on the plastic cabin trim. $1,750 for a particular tint to the paint.

A while back they raised the Roxie of the standard 20” to $2500 so the up charge for black was $1000 for a while.

This isn’t even new, they just updated the visualizer to show what people who could actually configure upcoming builds see. There was discussion of this on those threads.

I find it interesting that pre-price hike orders paid $4,300 for that exact same package ?

Some of us had the full package in our configs and had the spare removed with no ability to buy one. Not willing to wheel my truck until I can get a spare and not happy about it.

The AT wheels have been very popular. I wonder if this "bundle" is one way Rivian is hoping to reduce their avg per vehicle "loss" a little faster (without announcing price increases).

Yes, this is a price REDUCTION. It's GOOD news, and people ought to be giving Rivian credit for making this configuration available in a more affordable bundle. The tradeoff is you can't get the individual options a la carte anymore.

What is interesting is that in the Shop, there are Launch Editions with the All Terrain package but it isn't a price savings there.

They are bundling the 20" AT as part of the All Terrain package $3850 when the 20" AT should be free for the LE.

I don't have access to the shop (I got my R1T LE long ago) so I can't see that. They may have adjusted the base price to account for that - that's what they did on several occasions like when they unbundled the underbody shield which used to be included in the LE base price, and when they made the tow hooks a standard feature instead of optional. You would have to look at the total price of the configuration in the shop and not just the line items - my expectation is that an LE pre-order holder will not pay more than before just because the package features are re-arranged. But if you are an Adventure pre-order and are given a chance to buy an LE from the shop, I don't think they would be obligated to give you the 20" AT for free ... that's just supposed to be a benefit for LE pre-order holders.

You'd think that but I am a pre March 1 Adventure reservation holder and every LE in the shop that does not have the all terrain upgrade has the 20" AT or 22 SB included in the configuration at no additional cost - and that is unbundled line-item. It does not look like they are limiting that to Adventure reservation holder.
