BTW - any breaker bar should make the factory Rivian bolts easy to remove....Just hold the bit tight in the bolt (hold it tight and square to the bolt with one hand pushing straight up on the breaker bar / ratchet head), and turn the breaker bar / ratchet handle to loosen (lefty-loosey).

Any breaker bar (or long handle ratchet -- meaning at least 15" long) will do. Or get this tool kit, this breaker bar works perfect - plus you'll be set for tire rotations - https://evsportline.com/collections...-r1t-r1s-wheel-tire-diy-home-install-tool-kit

If you are using a short handle ratchet, less than 15" long, it will be very difficult to get the TP55 bolt loose.

I will make a video this week showing us using a breaker bar on the factory body bolt (TP55), so everyone can see the proper method for loosening and not stripping.

Curious for those installed, what efficiency you are getting on average now

Finally installed my running boards on my R1T and I'm happy with how they turned out overall, but there are a few things to note and a couple things EV Sportline could change:

1. They aren't that easy to install, unless you completely remove the panels and leave them off. Drilling holes or cutting holes does take some patience and working with the printable outlines wasn't as easy as I thought it would. Overall, it took me and one other person about 2-3 hours to do it all.

2. The only instructions for install are online. This was a big issue for me. As someone who likes details and step by step specific instructions, none of those were found. What is online are just generic steps and almost entirely discuss the options on cutting holes, slots, or removing the running boards. Even when they did discuss cutting the holes, the video only talks about the first hole, and doesn't go on to walk you through even doing one side of the truck. What we found out quickly is that if you do the 4" holes, you have to also measure between them to properly align the paper outline. Something the paper mentions on it, but very confusing. The outlines also included several lines on them that even for my engineer friend helping me didn't understand. EV Sportline: provide STEP BY STEP instructions from just simply screwing the plate onto the running board frame, to actually cutting each hole or slot.

3. Be careful sliding the frames around on the ground. They easily seems to get scratched. I laid mine down on the drive way and pushed them a little which immediately left marks on them from the rough concrete.

4. I don't like how the bolts on the tread plates aren't flush. Not sure why they weren't designed to be flush when that seems to be a pretty easy thing to do. Instead, the top of the plate has bumps from the bolts. Would look much cleaner and more aerodynamic if they sat in the plate.

Again, happy now that they are on, but definitely some frustration. Was sent two bags of bolts and nuts and didn't have the T55 bit. Caused alot of confusion the day of assembly.

I don't have answer but should be NO problem but I'm not aware of the half-shaft recall, what's that?

Not a recall, a customer satisfaction campaign.

On certain vehicles they are adding what I will assume is a spring washer to the half shafts and re torquing retaining bolts to a higher limit. I will advise exact repair after tomorrows visit

It's actually a funky type of splined washer. I can't remember what it is called. But it goes over the axle shaft and they have a special tool they stake it with.

Rivian service can lift the truck with RMaxx Running Boards, no problem. Was designed specifically to ensure Rivian can service. Here is a pic of our Rivian at Rivian service center, with our Running Boards installed. Tested and confirmed.

What's the safest way to take off these frame bolts without stripping/rounding off the head: impact wrench or breaker bar?
safest way is press and hold firmly the TP55 bit put into the bolt, while loosening with a breaker bar. People get into trouble not holding the bit in place tightly and squared up with the bolt head.

Good feedback - thanks. I will give the instructions another read and add more “detail”.

Also today we added 2 extra labels to the boxes, shown - specifically noting where to find instructions / videos. Moving forward, we will include this on the hardware bag too.

for the holes vs L slots - we made this today, to show both versions overlaid in a simplified sketch. So you can see exactly how the two options look & size comparably.

E-mailed customer EV Sportline customer support to get a shipping update about sliders, BLUF, looks like shipping has slipped another month.

"Thank you for your business and patience, as we are manufacturing our rock sliders as quickly as possible.

We are working very hard on scaling to produce these units to get to you as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, initial production has been slower to start than initially anticipated and we do expect to begin shipping R1T sliders by next month. Please keep in mind we always start with the oldest order and work forward.

We greatly apologize for the delays, but ask that you please be patient with us as we are doing the best we can. Trust us, this is worth the wait! The quality, construction and accessibility that our running boards/rock sliders provide, besides an enhanced exterior appearance, is truly a must have!"

We are managing expectations a little better on sliders.

We WILL ship some in late April (welding now), but it will take some time to get through backorder, for sure. Good/great news is we have 3x our output on running boards (doubled fixtures and shifts), same strategy is in motion for sliders - so I expect we will plow through sliders much, much faster than we did on running boards. ?? thanks for the patience everyone!
