So what’s the deal? Is EV Sportline not including TP55 in these kits? Just got my order and no bit.

You would think after the countless number of missing bits posted here they’d do a better job on packing those… unless they’re being cheap and “forgetting” to include the bit.
I’d give them the benefit of the doubt about being cheap and “forget”. They most likely packed and shipped in batch. It’s frustrating for sure not to have it (like I did) when you’re so pumped ready to install after waiting 4 months. Don’t forget they gave those of us who pre-ordered free shipping that’s worth a minimum $200.

I plan to get one locally, as I am ready to get the installation done today, or this weekend. With it being a Friday, I wouldn’t expect to see the appropriate hardware from the vendor until mid-to-late next week.
Best bet is at your local NAPA store.

My frame bolts will not budge even with an impact driver, so as of now these running boards are useless...

At the end of the video for drilling the 4" holes, there is an image with an overview of where all the holes are placed. Could you add that to the running boards cutting template? I successfully drilled the front passenger and center passenger holes so far, but I think seeing an overall view of where each hole is going would be helpful when first starting out.
I agree with this. Between having to chase EV Sportsline on an internet forum for ship status/ETA, Fedex losing the original shipment for 3+ weeks, then another another 2 weeks to get the frame bracket that was missing from original shipment, to no documentation and having to guess at right/left running board orientation until you actually have drilled holes.....I have to say I'm less than stoked on the EV Sportsline experience so far. Multiple little things that could have been streamlined. Now the fact that my frame bolts WILL NOT MOVE makes these things massive paper weights at the moment.

I'm no expert in impact wrenches but this seems like it should be more than sufficient

https://www.amazon.com/Makita-XWT08Z-Lithium-Ion-Brushless-Cordless/dp/B01CA04RH4?th=1

No load speed (3 speed) 0 - 900 / 0 - 1,000 / 0 - 1,800 RPM Impacts per minute (3 speed) 0 - 1,800 / 0 - 2,000 / 0 - 2,200 IPM
Maximum Torque 740 ft.lbs.
Makita and Dewalt impact wrenches are toys compared to this Milwaukee. I had a Dewalt, twice as big/heavy as this Milwaukee but was just junk. The Milwaukee removed the frame bolts like a piece of cake.

FWIW, the difference is that the Milwaukee with only mid-torque has much higher IPM than the high-torque Makita you have.

Get yourself a cheap $15 breaker bar. I got one from Walmart and it made it a lot easier to loosen the bolts.

This was the inspiration I needed, improvised breaker bar with an aluminum oar half did the trick.

@EV Sportline, it would be great if you can fix this page on your website so that I can see how your running boards look on an R1S. Thanks!

What's the safest way to take off these frame bolts without stripping/rounding off the head: impact wrench or breaker bar?

I find the impact wrench much easier since you can always put torque direct to the center of the bolt head. Not to say you can't with the breaker bar but you'd need one hand turning the arm while holding the bit socket steady on the bolt head with the other hand.

Breaker bar worked for me...which can just be anything fitted over the socket wrench that's long enough to give you more leverage - I've used a pipe, mtb handlebars, aluminum raft oar section... My impact wrench did nothing.

Sorry for your troubles! PM me your number, happy to call you personally to help you through the process - that will be best! FedEx damage and delays and factory Rivian bolts being too tight, on our list to try and fix!

Meanwhile, you'll find instruction (printable), videos, templates here: https://evsportline.com/blogs/news/rivian-r1t-r1s-buyers-guide-to-running-boards-and-rock-sliders

Or....scan (IE point your camera at) the QR code on the side of the box that says "SCAN FOR INSTRUCTIONS"
