PAAK - Issue Resolved - Nope!

Was following a previous thread " Phone upgrade: any issues with PAAK phone as key or with app?" (now closed - not sure why)

Anyway, I've been having lots of issues using my Samsung S23 Ultra as a key. Issue was that on phone reboot, the PAAK worked fine, however, after a few hours (or overnight) it required another phone reboot to function correctly. Well, following a software update on the phone last night, it seems to work much better as PAAK this morning. With a sample size of 1, I went out to the truck and it functioned exactly as advertised...doors unlocked on approach, and dash showed "Ready" upon brake application. This may seem trivial to those who have not been having this issue but, for me, it's the first time since early February that this has happened correctly!

Yay! Although I'm hesitant to declare victory yet, it's the most encouragement I've had in forever. More to follow and hope this helps others having same issue...

(Still not sure why the other thread was closed - nothing political or hostile there - unless you count my whining about Samsung... )

Nah. Whether it operates as it is supposed to is still seemingly random on my Pixel 6.

Sorry to hear that...time will tell but I'm still hopeful that, at least, the fix is in for the S23. FWIW, the wife's Pixel 7 Pro works fine...maybe there's a fix coming for the 6...

PAAK is significantly slower for me since the last update. It virtually always worked and now I tend to stand by the door for 3-5 seconds until it unlocks. iPhone 14 Pro

I was also pleasantly surprised that my Samsung S22 was working flawlessy all weekend... until it stopped working this evening. Had to use the app to unlock and the keycard to activate drive. I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow.

I have to pull my phone out for the PaaK to be recognized. Rarely need to manually unlocking with the app if if its taking to long.

With my old tesla, don't remember ever having to take my phone out of my pocket.

Ultra 23 owner here as well. Restarting my phone used to be my go-to add all, but then somewhere on here I read about toggling airplane mode and restarting the app. Now I generally just toggle airplane mode before starting my car in the morning and things have worked smoothly (though I haven't updated my phone software yet that was promoted today, so I'll try leaving my phone alone and seeing what hearkens after the update).

I have a theory the issue has something to do with either connecting to my Bluetooth headphones or Link to Windows in between driving my car, but haven't really applied the scientific method to that hypothesis.

Same here. Worked nearly flawlessly before this last update. Now I have to wait a few seconds after I get to the truck for the doors to unlock. iPhone 11.

I'll get in my two cents before this one gets locked.

Phone-as-Key has been working great on my Pixel 7, except when it doesn't. Like last night when it was pouring rain.

It seems to work fairly reliably with my Pixel 6 Pro. However with my wife's Pixel 5 it's worked maybe 1 or 2 times (including the time right after I re-set it up). I've tried removing and re-adding her phone as a key. I've tried with the phone being paired to the R1S for audio (and not). Just doesn't work and she has to use the keycard every time.

Our Model 3 worked flawlessly almost every single time with both our phones. Only a rare occasion where the car was in deep sleep did it not work.

Fold 4, it's been very unreliable. Have to restart bluetooth. Now that the fob works as proximity, I no longer care about the phones issues.

My pixel 6 still sucks. I've just resorted to carrying the fob with me.

I've also found that if the truck is parked and is in a deep sleep mode (like it does on my driveway), even the fob doesn't do anything. I have to go into the app and wake the truck before it will unlock. Pressing buttons on the fob does nothing for either lock or unlock until the truck wakes.

Well, my declaration of victory was premature. Seems as though it's pretty much the same as before the SW update on the phone. Back to square one...ugh...and FWIW, my wife's Pixel 7 Pro has never failed to work. Insult to injury...at least she gets a good laugh outta my seat being set for her...

Guess I'll keep a ticket open with Rivian and discuss further on my next visit...

Sounds about the same for me too. Of course, everytime I go into the garage and not to the truck it unlocks
