Oh, I thought the Lidar is to help configure the Drive + software. Is it more than that?

It is for Driver+, they are mapping out the locations they will enable for it to be used.

They are going with a system more like Cadillacs Super Cruise where you can keep your hands off the wheel as long as the camera sees you are watching the road. It is geofenced for the places they have mapped out and they will be opening up more areas over time.

It is a little different than the way Tesla implemented it where it is looking for steering wheel resistance to determine if your hands are on the wheel. Tesla is open up almost anywhere probably because your hands are supposed to be on the wheel ready to take over. They have not geofenced where it can be used.

Apparently nothing. Yard work time in a few min, 2 thursdays ago updates were at 6pm EST so who knows if they will make a call today. Im guessing FURDS instead of TURDS.

I agree that this is important and exciting to see. My bar for UI/UX in a vehicle has risen up pretty high over the past few years and I'm sure Rivian will knock it out of the park. Looking at the center screen in vehicles like the Rav4 Prime give me shivers ... ugh. How is this acceptable in 2021??
