Thanks for sharing! After watching this video, it gives me a lot more context and confidence in the software team.

Besides Tesla, who else has the capability to do this? Literally can’t think of any other car company

Did I disagree with you? Lots of people like waze because it lets them have another idea of where cops might be hiding on the freeway. Totally unimportant information to have if you are following the law.
Waze is also a valuable safety tool. It saved my bacon once by notifying me that there was an object on the freeway. Sure enough, there was a trailer hitch in the middle of the road. I had slowed down because of the warning but the guy in front of me drove right over it.

Or you could maintain proper following distance.

Thank you for the suggestion but I was. Because of the object in the road, many people were panic braking which slowed down traffic. I assume you’ve seen something like that before. Like I said, it was a valuable warning. Maybe try using Waze on your next road trip? You can even use it while maintaining proper following distance and driving the speed limit. ?

I've had to replace a bumper from a situation where I was using waze and a car in front of me kicked up a piece of metal into it. No warning on waze and not enough follow distance to avoid it. Feel free to run waze on your phone for the audio alerts though. Even if you do they might not always be there.

More importantly, Bensaid spilled the beans, saying Rivian “will make a big update with everything towing” this summer.

Despite the R1T’s existing ability to tow, he says there will be improvements to the drivability, adding creator profiles and a key upgrade involving the use of cameras.

Other features Bensaid discussed include:

  • Integrating text messages on the screen
  • Activating cameras via blinker
  • Navigation improvements to support adventure planning
  • Valet mode
  • Additional entertainment apps
  • Holiday software events like Halloween Mode
Rivian says it’s developing an algorithm to determine charger reliability through customer feedback and reviews to ensure a smooth charging experience in the future.

I'm sure our forum will find plenty of other things to whine about.... I mean why are there not any RAN stations in Alaska yet... Rivian come on.. And Rivian expects me to pay for charging that is BS

Well it's still no CarPlay so you could always go that route. It's pretty popular around here.

It is a great video and I hope he does some more of these over the course of the year. The new COO also did a good video recently - letting them both speak regularly and in their candid style would be great.
