R1S Shop access live with lots of inventory!

Took delivery this afternoon. Everything looked in good shape. Didn't notice any odd panel gaps or misalignments. I'll probably keep glancing around everything the next few days. So ultimately it was shop access in Mid-May and delivery 6/16. Could have probably taken delivery a week earlier if schedule and coordinating a couple of the 8-steps worked out faster.

Preorder/reservation deposit: 7/1/21
Rivian delivery estimate as of April update: Aug-Sept 2023
Shop Access: mid-May (don't remember the exact date)
Selected vehicle in shop (identical to my configuration): 5/26/23
Delivery: 6/16/23

RJ is going to do everything he can to have a healthy Q2 delivery number and we are all benefiting from the mad scramble to get R1s delivered. I am sure it is costing a pretty penny to do all the truck deliveries, but worth it to show wall street that you can ramp up production and deliveries. The "Shop" has REALLY helped them simplify and speed up things. In fact... I wouldn't be surprised if they just tell everyone who preordered a config to "just go find it yourself in the Shop" (which is sort of what it feels like is happening). Why? I am guessing they are wasting time reaching out to order holders letting them know their R1S is ready.. the individuals wait days to respond only to let Rivian know they are no longer interested (can't afford one.. and never really could)... or just get a bunch of people who never respond to emails letting them know the car they ordered 2 years ago is ready for purchase. For post March22 orders, I don't think you will ever go in and configure your order, you will just get a Shop invite to pick what you want.

The only time it makes sense to go with LE is if you get a recent build with 2023 floor pan enhancement in place and you select either 22" brights or 20" All terrains.

Financially it doesn’t make much of a difference to get an LE with other wheels, but there is another way it makes sense: if someone wants Launch Green paint.

We’re getting the wrist band key sent to us but I don’t see a lot of value in it for me. I agree with what others have said: adding equivalent functionality to smart watches is WAY more appealing since I always have it with me and I don’t have to wear another thing in addition to it.

100% right in launch green paint being free and for some a benefit.

It’s more exclusive than white (freemium) or silver (free) in the long run.

I personally preferred something like limestone over launch green and that’s why I didn’t snag a launch green when I had the chance.

I saw plenty of solid launch green builds in the shop including with ocean coast seats. That was the only way I could hedge my bets to get a late model/2023 with safety enhancements. BM had a risk of being 2022.

I have a feeling I won’t have my wristbands ready for pickup when I take delivery. I already have to setup an appointment for them to take care of some items after end of quarter rush is over and they have more tech available for resolving delivery issues.

There are already some good pictures out there, but I'll snap a couple tomorrow and post in this thread as proof of life (err.. delivery, heheh).

I requested access through the online chat a few days before I got it. I had also asked for it on a First Drive a week before that, but the guide pretty much shot me down on the spot.

Sure, yes.. it is mandatory in WA. But this place is so messed up these days that cops really aren't allowed to pull you over like that anymore... they decided that pulling people over for plate violations was inequitable. If you get stopped over for a major traffic violation, then they could also give you a hard time about the plate.

Make sure you follow up with your guide to send a message to them not to install it. I selected "do not install front plate" during the purchase/delivery process (I cant remember where that step was), and they still installed it with rivets
