Hey everyone.. Houston,TX checking in..

I was able to get store access and ordered an inventory R1S about a week ago. I've completed all the steps but no guide has ever reached out to me. I am attempting to contact the guide that i see on my rivian page, but the text messages and emails are falling on deaf ears!

Can anyone speak to their experience with guides?

How many days since you contacted them? It took mine about 4 days before I heard from them. If you've completed the steps without issue, they really don't contact you. Your car is probably at the center getting prepped for delivery.

Thanks! I wrote to them 3 times over the last 4 or so days (i.e. Thursday, Friday last week and this afternoon)

I just want a better ETA for when the vehicle will be available as I'm traveling out of town for about 10 days in early July. I don't want any issues around pickup whilst I'm out of town frankly. How long did it take for you to get your vehicle once you ordered it?

I got shop access last Thursday and it's already at the Rivian center. I'm not picking it up until July 8th because I'll be gone for two weeks starting Saturday and I didn't have time this week to pick it up. Wait until the delivery specialist calls you to delay your pick up because they are more flexible than the guide. My guide was going to disconnect my order to the vehicle while the delivery specialist was cool with me picking it up on the 8th. Don't pick it up and go on vacation as not to lose your 7 day return window.

I think based on the current production rate, R1Ss won't be hard to get very soon. Remember, you're the consumer and don't lose fact of that. If the truck isn't to your liking, don't accept it. And this applies for anything you buy. Be patient and go through the truck to make sure you're satisfied with everything. I've attached the excellent checklist for your delivery. Best of luck and congratulations!

Thanks ! yeah I've lived through tesla hell when they had shitty alignment issues so know the drill. I am getting a great trade in price for my car so i don't want to lose that!

I hope i get the R1S soon... good luck to you as well and keep me posted when you pick the vehicle up!!

I got shop access, about 10 days later I grabbed one from the shop, then about a week later after I had already set up a pickup date my guide reached out to me since she was apparently on vacation for TWO WEEKS; however, there's like a pool of *on call* guides if you reach out via chat support which will try to answer your questions.

i called the guide 1-877 number and am waiting to get a call back! thanks for the heads up - will hopefully hear from them this week

Once you completed your steps, it is all depending on how your car will be transport to you. There will be two quality checks, one at the Norman plant and one at your houston service center.
If your vehicle is tranport by truck, then it will take about 1 week. By train will be 2 to 4 weeks.
Your guide will be the only one would know that information.
Make sure you delay the final payment until the day before you schedule to pick up your vehicle.

Ah ok! thank you. Yeah i haven't completed the payment step ...

Related q- if i reject delivery, does that mean i get the payment back?

I grabbed one from the shop on a Wednesday evening and then Thursday-Friday reached out to Rivian support for questions about financing, insurance, etc. and then applied for financing through 1) Rivian (Chase), 2) my credit union, and 3) BoA for whom I just paid off 2+ years early an auto loan the previous week in preparation for my Rivian delivery; I also submitted a request for insurance quote through Rivian (Nationwide). Monday I got a text from a Service Center person to set up pickup appointment for the following Wednesday. The following Monday, I finally heard from my guide after she got back from 2 week vacation and then later that afternoon, she drops the bomb that they needed all payments to be by 3pm Tuesday or would have to bump my Wednesday pickup which was a *first heard* by me. To make a long story short I had to bump my pickup to Friday am, so all-in all it happened pretty quick (16 days) from the time I choose the R1S from the shop. As always, YMMV. ;-)
