Hm - curious to see how this plays out for me. I signed my purchase agreement 2 weeks ago and shows $0 for delivery fee. Service center texted last week about pickup range and said I need delivery and they said yes that’s fine we will schedule it. So wonder what will happen and if they will ask for money or not.

They should have done this from the start. I would have picked up from the factory if I had the choice in September. Regardless it makes good financial sense to pay that extra and I think anyone with a home delivery can understand the charge.
Destination fee is a regulatory thing. It can’t be waived. They could offer a discount in the same amount though.

I didn't mean the destination fee. I was talking about an extra fee for home delivery. I could have probably worded my comments better.

I was just contacted by the Atlanta Service center for my “pick up” on the 28th and their email etiquette sucks.

Sincerely the inconvenience of having to have me come pick up my truck obviously is overwhelming to them. I mentioned delivery as Atlanta traffic sucks 24/7 and they said for $1000. I told them it was $0 in my contract I signed and immediately they came back with “do you want us to add it in”

luckily I had read here about it not being on their contract so I brought that up and the next email just exacerbated me.

I told them the 28th would be fine but I’d reach out to the guide to see if Rivian really wanted to rewrite the whole signed contract.

my guide Jon has been nothing short of awesome and I have had positive communications with him the entire time. If I hadn’t built that relationship with him my experience with the service center would have totally turned me off of the “Rivian experience.”

Right now based on my communications I have had with the Atlanta Service Center I have the feeling that the service center experience will feel like a 1990 Chevy dealership where you needed to thank them for price gouging you on your warranted repair they would not honor.

Curious how it goes for you as my purchase agreement I signed 1 week ago also has a $0 in delivery & I am wanting delivery as 2.5hrs from service center & not doing a trade in. What did you read about it not being in the contract?
