Agree, when I bought my A8 they gave me the tracking number and I could track its every move from Germany, even when it was on ocean freight.

What Rivian has said during their earnings call is that they plan to be complete the pre-March legacy priced orders by the end of the summer (except those live well outside of service centers and those with few other exceptions, like changing to max pack/dual motor or wanting to push out delivery for personal reasons).

Seeing that you are roughly 5 months after March 2021 and clearly new pricing preorder, it would not surprise me if you get your vehicle by the end of the year, if you have a common configuration (i.e., Large pack, non-vinyl dash).

As the production ramps up and people lose their patience and buy something else, or financial situation changes, it is highly likely that preorder sell though rate has dropped noticeably.

Many will say they've waited a long time, very long time but they are counting from when they made the deposit and not when Rivian started production. My preorder to delivery was 21 months but from real production start in a meaningful way (June~July 21), the wait was actually just over a year. Clearly there are people ahead of you but probably not as much as some people think, relatively speaking.

So, there definitely is a waiting time still, the pace of the production has increased significantly so that early buyers wait times are somewhat meaningless going forward.

I asked CS for R1 shop access, I was initially denied.

I reached out to CS again after 2 weeks and they put in a request. I got access within a couple days. I saw many vehicles to my liking but couldn't pull the trigger due to indecisiveness on exterior/interior colors. On the 5th day, I got a LA silver with black mountain on 21".

So looks like they are allowing R1 shop access to pre-March orders - you just need to ask. Don't wait.

My estimate was July-Dec 2024 for OC interior. Now I'm taking delivery in a couple weeks.

Hey everyone, new member here. I placed my R1S deposit exactly 1 year ago today, but I still don't have an estimated build date or anything really. Is that normal for 1 year later? What kind of delivery should I be guestimating?

Here are my stats. You'll do better, I'm sure. It was 44 months from my reservation date until Rivian provided my first delivery window estimate. My latest delivery estimate is June-July 2023. I'm still waiting. Moral of the story: if you choose the vegan leather accents/trim, you could be waiting forever. So, knock on wood (literally), you'll do better. And welcome to Rivian Forums!

I selected a limestone/BM/AT dark on Friday 7/28. Vin is 16,7xx. Still going through 8 steps, done have a pickup date yet.

I would speculate that 200 cars hit the shop per week.

So I would say 1/3 might hit the shop from daily production.

My car left Normal 7/14 and got the text hat it arrived from the SC yesterday. I am taking delivery 8/8 - the first date they offered. Hoping there’s some chance I can pick it up earlier if they have a cancellation.

Got a text from PDX service center today. They said it will be available for pickup week Of 8/27, so looks like 4 weeks from selecting in the shop. It’s so hard to wait these final few weeks even though it’s been almost 2 years!

Just took delivery on Wednesday of an R1S with vin 118xx. It was assigned to me, not purchased off the shop. Is there an indication on when it was built? It’s interesting there’s an incident footage saved on it of the SUV being driven around the Normal plant too, but can’t really make out what is happening

Probably late May. What’s the date on your door jamb?

Mine is factory fresh build from June locked down on 6/9 and vin is 12,xxx
