Hi All,
I am insured by Allstate at the moment and my truck is registered as a commercial vehicle when I purchased it through Rivian. I questioned it back then but never got an answer from guide why. Allstate is cancelling all commercial policy's as they come up for renewal in the state of California. My understanding is that commercial vehicles classify as anything over 10,001 GVW and carries more then 15 people so NOT SURE WHY Rivian sold it that way!
I'd like to hear from a few of you if your truck is registered as a commercial vehicle or a car. My insurance currently is with Allstate at $2200 a year with $500K compressive is jumping over $3600 a year on the few quotes I have received so far. Just seeing if it's worth going down to DMV to get it changed to a car?
The insurance market on a whole is having lots of problems but especially here in California. RIVIAN quite was very high at the time of purchase so I didn't go that route since it was purchased by my company.
