My Red Canyon R1S in PPF Stealth Wrap

It has lost some of the copper, and I'm still a bit sad about that. The Matte brings out a bit more red and it's still a great color though. Just like the shiny red is hard to capture on camera, so is the satin red. It's still a vibrant color and changes a lot in different light. I didn't want to do the cost of a PPF wrap to have it look the same.

Don't mean to steal this thread but here is some comparison of the PPF wraps i got from one of the installers .. clear one as well as matte one ... the last one shows the non edge wrapped clear one ..

also the burnt orange shows up nicely in these pics and the red color doesnt lose its characteristics .. FYI this is a STEK Dyno matte finish.

STEK DYNOmatte Matte Paint Protection Film applied to all painted surfaces
STEK DYNOshield Paint Protection Film applied to all piano black surfaces and headlights/taillights
All silver trim accents wrapped in gloss black vinyl

I just dropped off my Red Canyon R1S for nearly the exact same work and exact same products. I’m having STEK DYNOmatte put on the red, and shield on the black trim. I’m sticking with STEK for their NEX Series tint - 35 in front and 70 everywhere else (except the roof). My installer said he was going to blackout all silver trim (window trim, rear bumper, and front pan) with PPF rather than vinyl. He said the former would last longer.

I’m also going to do Modesta ceramic. Did your have ceramic done as well?

Your pics were inspiring to me! Thanks for sharing. Will share some comparison photos of my own when done. We did put a small piece of DYNOMatte on the hood so I could see the effect. I thought it was super cool and unique, but again hard to photograph and capture the full effect.

- Black PPF (my installer emphasized PPF was used rather than vinyl wrap, he said he didn’t like the look of vinyl) was also applied to the hideous brushed silver window, silver rear bumper accent, and silver front skid plate thingy that’s not actually a skid plate
- STEK NEXSeries tint - 35 front, 70 on all other non roof glass, including windshield
- Modesta BC04 ceramic (this was a splurge)

Here are some photos (including a really cool installation photo contrasting the matte film on the hood but not yet on front bumper and door)

Good eye! I used Brainexploder’s blackout kit and just asked for yellow compasses for the C-pillars. I left the one on the hood black because from the hood emblem viewing angle the yellow trim pops out more. Blacking out the C-pillar compasses just looks like a black blob to me, so I wanted to try the yellow on them instead.
