I am curious about this as well!Theoretically can be less rolling resistance so less reduction in efficiency for the beefier tires, but may ride harsher. Mostly I would look at wear to be the biggest indicator for your pressures if you are wanting to go over the recommended pressure (which of course is really only tested with, and most applicable to the OE tires). Look at the wear on your tires, if you are wearing the outsides more than the center increase the pressure, if you are wearing the center more than the edges reduce it. If you are rolling over to the sidewall you need more pressure too (or a less aggressive driving style).
