Theoretically can be less rolling resistance so less reduction in efficiency for the beefier tires, but may ride harsher. Mostly I would look at wear to be the biggest indicator for your pressures if you are wanting to go over the recommended pressure (which of course is really only tested with, and most applicable to the OE tires). Look at the wear on your tires, if you are wearing the outsides more than the center increase the pressure, if you are wearing the center more than the edges reduce it. If you are rolling over to the sidewall you need more pressure too (or a less aggressive driving style).
I am curious about this as well!

I decided on Toyo Open Country A/T III and had them installed yesterday. I had a hard time deciding between the Toyos vs KO3s. Interested to see if there’s much of an efficiency hit on these.
I'm interested to hear your take on the Toyo's compared to this comment from @Phrogz on them....I was seriously considering them vs the Falken Wilpeaks ATIII....
I just replaced my stock Scorpion 20" with the Toyo Open Country AT3. (With my daily commute on steep, curving mountain roads, and with my proclivity for accelerating hard and using High brake regen, the Scorpions were just about completely spent at under 12,500 miles.)

I definitely feel a sloppier difference in the driving characteristics, above ~35 MPH. Changing lanes at highway speeds I feel like I'm driving a boat; there's some "slosh" as I steer into the new lane, and more "slosh" after I steer back.

I haven't noticed a problem with the noise, I like the way these look, and I hope they'll work better during the snow this Colorado winter. But the AT3's definitely don't feel great. The Scorpions made me feel solid even at max speed (which I should never have been driving); with these new ones I'd be hesitant to change lanes above 80 MPH.

Can’t say that’s been my experience so far, buts it’s only been a couple of days and I don’t think I’ve had the truck over 65mph. I wonder if tire pressure could be a factor. I’m running mine at 60 psi. Noise is improved vs my worn out Scorpions. I had 34k miles on them when replaced.

I just ordered me a set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3's from Costco. Ready to install them on my Bronze R800 Compass 8 spoke Flow Forged wheels.
Of all the places to buy wheels, Costco can't be beat. Free install, free balancing, free rotation for life, stores all over the country and unmatched customer service. Can't beat that.

Bronze wheels on a Compass Yellow? I look forward to seeing pics!

You can use chalk to see if the tire contact patch is correct.
I did a chalk test on my BFG KO2s and keep them at 58 cold, which ends up being 62-65 on the road in the Florida summer. I've got 7k miles on mine and the wear looks even and smooth, Discount Tire said they looked great at my 5k mile rotation. Interested to see experiences at varied pressure for OP and others...

65 PSI? I have some Wildpeak AT3/W's on my truck, running 49 PSI but wondering if I should bump them up as well? max tire rating is 80 as well. Is there a noticeable benefit or issue running above factory (49) PSI?
What is the approximate range hit you're seeing with the Wildpeaks compared to the Scorpions?

The tread pattern on the ko3 looks more road efficient than the earlier models. More interlocking blocks and randomized as well to help with harmonics.

Great tire!! I've run at 65psi on my Cooper Discover AT3's for 21,000 miles already and from previous posts I'm within 1-2% on range of the Scorpions. Road noise is neglible, tire wear is rock solid. Ride comfort is not noticeable to me, as compared to OEM. Load Range E vs D is the equalizer.

Picture below is 10K plus miles. I'm thinking I'll get 30K easy on the Cooper AT3's.

Great to hear! Got the 65psi idea from your previous posts. Still don't have enough miles on them to evaluate. Here's a sample of 1/3 freeway 2/3 city with lots of hills at approx 65F

What psi do you plan to air down to when off-road?

Heading out tomorrow morning. Probably try 35 and see how it goes. Depends on the trail too.

Also how fast did you go on the highway? How does it compare to the scorpions?
