While I love Rivian Blue and Canyon Red, I need to get the tax credit which I can with pre-increase pricing on a Dual Max R1T with RUS. But only if I don't have to pay extra for paint. So that limits me to Glacier White and LA Silver, not that either one excites me.

For those of you have one of these, any downsides or upsides that you have experienced? If you had it to do over again would you make the other choice?

Id vote White all day and if you want to change the color later just get it wrapped. That said I think that White looks great on the R1T and won't show scratches easily either.

Keep in mind if you are talking about the current tax credit, you are only going to get $3750 for keeping it under $80k.

I wasn't excited about white but I was in the same predicament. I chose white and it grew on me - a lot. I still wish I could have gone with canyon red, though

I had a silver loaner and I didn't like it. I'm not sure why, but it just didn't do it for me. Also, the metal flake didn't appear to be distributed evenly, giving it a ghost of a splotchy look from the right angles. It was a 6xxx vin, so maybe they dialed it in since then

I was debating if I should get white or silver as well.

I picked silver because it hides dirt well, and my previous car was white so I decided to switch it up.

If I had to do it again I would pick white, silver is ok though, just personal preference.

I have the silver. It's ok. There are different colors in the flake, so depending on the lighting it can change color a bit.

With that said, I wish I had gotten the red instead like I had originally configured.

For me, silver on the R1T (which is what I have) and white on the R1S. I really like my silver, particularly when paired with black wheels and after six years of a black car I was excited for something much easier to care for.

White was my second choice, but I also don’t think I would have regretted white either.

Came here to write exactly this. Silver for the T looks really good (I'm biased). For some reason GW is looks better on the S. Having owned quite a few diff color vehicles, silver is just easy to take care of. White for longevity.

I like both, they're easy to care for and I think they look good.

They're good choices in a hot climate, and far easier to keep clean and polished than dark colors in my experience.

Silver is probably the easiest to maintain, the white (which I have) shows dust pretty quickly.

I can ignore the paranoia about swirl marks though ;)

I signed the binding purchase agreement so can get the $7500 credit by amending my 2022 return, for which I paid $7600 in taxes.

Then you don't need to be under $80k to get it.

^ what he said. Get the blue, but the red is also a great choice. :)

How is this possible? One of the basic stipulations is the $80k price cap.

The $80K price cap is in the "new" rules which were signed into law at the end of august last year IIRC.

If you signed a binding agreement before the law was signed, the old rules, without a price cap, applied.
