Daaang that is a pretty color and sexy truck. If they hadn’t offered yellow, this would have had our hearts.
That should be el Cap. Yeah the second one is by the white R1T farther away. I thought the R1T behind that Blue one was Limestone, but someone mentioned it was just a wrap ?
Anyone want to take a stab at what color the truck is in the back? Snagged this screenshot around the 44 second mark of the camp kitchen video posted by Rj. For comparison, there is an El Cap Granite colored truck also in the video in a latter frame.
There was an article on Jalopnik earlier today (yes, I know they're trash and yes, I know they are Tesla haters, etc...) about how different rendering software packages provide different output of the same image. It underscores how important real-life outdoor photos are to making sure that you're getting what you expect. (link, btw)
In person from the showing they did in mill valley its close but not as dark as this. In person looks drastically better than the renderings.
I also saw the blue truck at the Mill Valley showing, but I thought it was substantially lighter than that photo and rejected it as a color choice. I would prefer a darker blue.
You think maybe they've adjusted since then?
I'm sure the paint color hasn't changed. It's always been subject to a high degree of variation depending on lighting and color balance.
Not likely. We've noted all along that almost all of Rivian's colors, and especially the blue, look very different in different lighting. Just Google "Rivian blue pictures" and look at all the variety.
Ok, so I am coming out of stealth mode for this “find.” There has been a lot of mystery around actual photos of limestone. I think this picture is it. I believe the prior comment about it being a wrap was referring to the R1 you see behind the driver’s side of the truck through the window. Looking at the configurator photos for limestone this seems spot on. Real life photos of El Cap seem much darker. Any other opinions???
