Discount had the pucks and removed and then replaced the plastic covers. Very good job.

Happy to hear your DT location knows what they are doing. Both discount tires near me need better training. Caught the guys both times trying to improperly jack up my vehicle. They had the pucks but I had to show them that they need to remove the covers and place pucks in the correct location. ??‍

Just rotations are free even if the tires aren’t purchased from them. I paid $56 for a one time rotation and balance. My tires are worn all uneven and one is reading 4/32 at just under 14k miles so it didn’t make sense getting the $96 one.

Great experience rotating my tires for the first time at Discount Tire on Chambers in Aurora last week. Manager had clear directions on how to put into tire change mode but hadn’t done it before. We went to the car and got it all set up together. He also watched my vehicle closely during service to make sure they used an appropriate bay to lift correctly with the pucks.

I also had shown up on the wrong day for my appt, but they still took me and had it done in 1.25 hrs.

I did buy the road hazard certificates for my 20” ATs. It was about $330 to cover all 4 I believe. Supposedly that tire runs around $440 right now. I think the certificates may include balancing too, but it’s not clearly specified.

Reading the posts on the thread you provided, there’s a very broad range of experiences with DT. From not having the pucks to the owners needing to train the techs, or tech completely ignoring the process for the R1T. Granted some have had great experiences too. I’m interested in this topic, since I live in an EV desert and DT is really the only option we have unless we do it ourselves.

I did stand near the bay while the techs performed the rotation to ensure they didn't miss any steps. Glad DT is partnering with Rivian, Have purchased my tires with hazard warranty the last 5 years and had to use the warranty out of state a few times with no issues...

I had a great experience at Discount Tires as well. Rotation and balance. Free rotation and minor charge for balance. Made appointment online and I was impressed with their entire operation.

I had an excellent experience at DT in Scottsdale rotating my 21" tires at 5000 miles. I only knew about DT partnering with Rivian after calling Rivian to schedule a mobile visit to rotate and the Rivian advisor told me if I have a DT close by to use them which I did, $40 to check and balance all 4 wheels, tire rotation was free. They had all the equipment (pucks) and know how (putting the truck on high suspension and in proper mode)to do the job. They said my tires were wearing well, forgot to ask the depth and two tires were slightly out of balance which they corrected.

Can attest to a good DT tire rotation experience at the Bloomington MN location. Scheduled my appointment ahead of time online, and they saw me pull up early and came out to squeeze me in early. Assured me they had the pucks, and got me out of there fairly quickly. Free rotation.
