July 2022 Reservation holder located near LA that got R1S shop access recently. Wanted a Quad motor, but since only Dual motors are being configured right now , I decided to pick a Quad from the shop so I can enjoy this thing during the upcoming snow season instead of waiting indefinitely. (I reached out to CS asking when Quads will be available to configure again and they could not give me a timeframe)

I found a Quad with VIN 27xxx but there is a $900 discrepancy in price if I were to build the same car in the configurator today.

Basically, Shop car is $900 more than the identical configurator build but doesn't include the compact spare tire. I'm guessing this shop vehicle's price is based off of pricing before the "All Terrain Upgrade" grouped some options together, given that it has the underbody shield without a spare tire.

I reached out to my guide and was basically told I can buy a spare tire in the gear shop, which is $778. So I'd be spending an additional $1,678 in total on this $100k+ shop vehicle compared to an identical configurator build.

Has anybody been successful in having their guide adjust pricing to reflect current pricing? Or at least throw in addition gear like a spare tire at no additional cost?

Similar situation, though an earlier 2023 18xxx vin, all terrain tires and underbody protection a la carte with no spare. I got a phone call with a match instead of R1S Shop access. In my case the cost came out a little less than the current configurator, probably due to prices from time of whomever configured it initially. Quad was 6k for me instead of 8k, wheel and tire $3500 plus $2k for underbody, where it’s now a $3600 package. Black wheels recently became a $1000 upcharge and was no charge on my vin. I also think the price for front protection film has gone up $1500 to $1800 in the past week. Once delivered I can order the $778 spare and be a little ahead, but I’m also wondering if this earlier vin was even in the R1S shop.

Realizing your vin was probably after the Quad price hike, but before the all terrain bundle. That lines up. Oof. Good luck on the spare. I plan on purchasing mine once I get delivery.

From what I have heard and seen the shop prices are what they are. You can shop for a different one, wait for your configured one, or take that one.

Keep in mind though, after March ā€˜22 no prices are fixed so waiting could end up costing more.

My Guide told me that pricing in the shop should be reflective of pricing based on your reservation date. Not sure if that means it should reflect pricing on the exact date I made the reservation, because if that is the case, the XPEL wrap should be $1,500 and not $1,800.

I think what he meant to say was that pricing isn't fixed for anybody who made reservations after March 2022, and that the price of the shop build is reflective of what prices were when the order was initially placed, whenever that was.

He told me he was going to bring this up with his management team though. If I could at least get a compact spare thrown in there at no additional cost I'd be happy. Maybe since it's the end of the year they'll be a little more willing to appease me to try and get this thing delivered soon to make Q4 delivery numbers look good. None of this is a dealbreaker though so I'm going to go through with the purchase either way. I'll post an update if anything changes.

UPDATE: "The request was denied"

Was worth a shot, but I'm not surprised. Looks like prices are what they are in the shop. That's my cost for not waiting around in production purgatory.
