Help for a confused hopeful owner regarding order process and timelines?

So I reserved June 2022, got invited to config in September, and end of Nov was moved from processing estimate to Dec<>Jan 24. Never got shop access...but saw in the website that I was assigned a Guide (who never responds...hence the need for some forum style wisdom!) Log in last night, and my Dec/Jan estimate is gone, and back to processing....and all of sudden have Shop access for "a limited time". Anybody seen this happen before...and know what I should expect? Trying to juggle things around the vehicle being here, and hard to plan around the shift, of course.

If you have shop access and find a build you like you can likely have it before the end of the year.

Yeah usually when they give shop access that ETA goes away. Most likely still Dec-Jan but they probably just remove it since you could get something from the shop in a couple weeks (which is weird since that's still within your ETA window anyway)

First off - I'm offended that you think we are Reddit.

Everything else about your situation, including the guide that hasn't responded is very typical. They are stretched pretty thin, so my best guess is they have to prioritize their time for those who are further along in the process. I have a feeling you will hear back from them once you choose a vehicle. Just do your own due diligence and make sure it has what you need/ want since you probably won't have access to their help yet...

It usually gets better after that point, but there have also been folks who still never heard from their guide. FWIW you can prod them a little bit by calling customer service and asking them to get your guide a message. It's also possible to get all the way through the process without them if you don't really need their assistance. I didn't really have any questions until the final steps and I needed to send a couple documents in from my insurance company and bank...

I must say I was very fortunate on both my vehicles that my guides here in CO were fantastic. I did get new guides through the process, but they were always responsive. It is the holiday season and employees are probably pulling double duty for those who may be on vacation.

My 1st vehicle was my order, 2nd one I pulled from shop as it was only missing under body shield on wife’s S. Though I know she won’t be rock crawling, I forgot about possible mall curbs and signs ?

From what I've seen (and I think understand from my guide), it looks like they've given pretty much everyone shop access to try to clear out any inventory for end of quarter. My guide told me having shop access doesn't affect timing on custom build if you don't pull the trigger on anything in the shop. I saw someone else say they were told the same thing.

Similar situation to yours, ordered Nov 2022, configured in Oct, end of Nov 23 got expected delivery dec 23 jan 24 back to "processing estimate" with shop access as of dec 6. I have a very responsive guide who told me "Your status has changed because you are expected to be matched very soon!"

The ? at the bottom left of the Rivian website. They won’t reach out on their own, unless you are missing something. My original guide would respond after days, but got a new one assigned and he responded within an hour each time I had a question.
