Yellow Oil leak front motor

Hi everyone,

I was looking about this or related but so far nothing.
Today I was clean and saw I dark dot under my r1t the rest of the cover is dry so I removed it and I saw top of has some oil and I saw I yellow oil coming from what I guess is the motor.
not sure if this is normal, I’m don’t I know how long this is happening, is there is a way to check the oil level? I’m worry if is too low can damage something.
I’m not live in US, so there is not place I can go for service.

On some vehicles AC compressor Oil is also yellow. You probably have to remove the frunk lining to determine the origin of the leak. I believe I saw a video once on YouTube of the process ... probably should google it first. Good luck!

Diego, I just got back from my first trip to Costa Rica with my fishing team @teambaldtuna, competing in a Dorado Tourney. What an amazing country and the wildlife was out of this world. I never saw a Rivian, and I’m amazed you got one down there. How’d you get it there?

I can’t say is pure oil but I’m 99% sure. Does not look has water on it, besides is not raining here

well there is a company here that makes all processes to pass the rivian check, but not sure how they do it.

Quad motor, according with little investigation is the center casting, that is at the middle of the gearbox, so if the came from the gearbox some of sealed is bad, but im just guessing

I just need check how much oil should have the gearbox and pull out the old one to check how much it lost , buy oil and fill it, then check where is the leak and try to fix it

It likely hasn't lost anything significant from the looks of the belly pan. You might get lucky and be able to snug up whatever is leaking. Here is the fill hole just to the right of his thumb. If there is oil just below the hole when you stick your finger in, it likely has the right amount.

Thanks that help a lot and sure al will check ??, yesterday I used a endoscope but the is kind imposible with the black cover around de motors, but still in the hunt, but probably I will have to bring the motors down ??‍

This is most likely drive fluid. The drive oil is yellowish-green. I had fluid dripping onto my lower pan from the same point on the drive unit. SC got me in within a week and they found a bad output shaft seal, which they replaced along with the drive unit oil.

The only frustrating experience was that they wouldn’t tow it because it was drivable without any alerts so I had to drive it to the SC 2.5 hours each way, for drop off and pick up. They also wouldn’t review any of my other tickets that were pending for a service scheduled 2 weeks later. Separate gripes, just be aware that you’ll have to take it in.
