Nice write up. Watched @evsportline setup video as well. Interest in reviews of the unit.

Only thing that looks clunky (but no way around it for now) is the youtube/airplay. But better to have the ability than not right now.

Might need to think about getting. Could route to the fuse panel, but lucky enough to have the 12v in the cabin.

To include:

1. Show the bracket as "Pat. Pending"
2. Mention display has @EV Sportline firmware, not some often comical generic asian firmware, with incorrect units, etc.
3. Limited Use Media Player

Was out and about today in the truck (Costco, etc.) and it was sooooo nice to finally be able to safely manage iMessages and stream music from the phone. Works seamlessly, so far!

No, but is that a thing? I know there is a split screen for two apps map, running on the left and the other open app on the right? And I know while listening to music, when a text message comes in, the music pauses so you can interact with the message and then when you close the message the music automatically resumes. Sorry for any dictation errors.

more curious on usability mostly. sound integration consistently.

Never had car play with an ev before, so how good route planning is with car play and whatever navigation to include charging, etc (take limitations since it won't know battery status, etc).

I can answer some of this now - With CarPlay, navigation is the same as using the "Gold Standard" navigation apps on your phone, like Waze, Google Maps or even Apple Maps. You do not use the junky Rivian home grown nav and routing. Route planning comes from those "Gold Standard" apps.

Sound integration - Exactly the same as pairing your iPhone to the Rivian and streaming audio from whatever iPhone app you use, including Apple Music.
