I had a weird screen glitch happen while driving tonight. As I was slowing down at a light both the driver and center screen switched to daytime mode (in their normal clunky little way), which was odd (it was definitely still dark). Even stranger, was after going white the driver screen went to displaying only the Rivian logo (same as when you soft reset). My stomach dropped when I saw that logo pop up as I figured a total failure was on the way, but just a second or two later everything went back to a normal, black display. Driving was never affected.

Anyone ever seen that?

This just happened to me again, except it did a full reset of the infotainment system while cruising at 85 mph.

Basically Rivian logo popped up on driver screen, center screen went black/radio stopped, got a system fault message on the driver screen, followed by a 30 second soft reset initiated by the system.

I was in driver + at the time, which disengaged while this happened, but I never lost any power to the drive system - speedometer, charge indicator, and gear selector was unaffected.

Everything has been fine again since it happened. I saw some reports of this on Reddit. Anyone done any diagnosis with Rivian for this issue?

I think I’m going to put in a ticket on it now that it’s happened twice - mainly to start creating a paper trail should frequency increase. I’ve had no other problems with my vehicle since I got it.

It happened to me last night. Driver's screen went to white with just the speedometer displayed, the center screen went full black, with the logo appearing after a few seconds and the the nav kicked off. After about 30 seconds or so everything came back up with the appearance of a reset, e.g. the efficiency graph was zeroed out, had to reselect my nav destination, etc.

It's the first real glitch I've had with the vehicle in 7 months of ownership. I have an appointment tomorrow morning for the overfull refrigerant campaign. I'm going to mention it to them then. I suspect it's a bug in the 46 update.

The first time mine did the shorter blip it was on .42. I am on .46 now though.

Please let us know if they have any info for you.

Update: There were three of us at the SC this morning having service performed on our vehicles. All three of us had encountered the glitch and we all mentioned it to the service rep. The SC did a full diagnostic on all three vehicles and couldn't find anything unusual.

I didn't think they'd find anything, but I was fairly surprised to find three of us in for service for different reasons and all of us had encountered the glitch. At least it's now on their radar.

Thanks - I just submitted a ticket describing the glitches I observed as well. Hopefully they can address it in a future OTA update. It appears to be relatively common if this many folks are experiencing it.
