New tires day

I got new tires installed today at Les Schwab. I have 25,500 miles. I have the quad motor and 21 inch wheels. I just went with the Pirelli per original spec. $2346 installed. Tires for this thing ain’t cheap.
Does anyone know if the tire pressure monitoring system is built into the wheels such that when you rotate the tires/wheels the locations no longer corresponds with what is shown in the display? That is what it looks like when they were inflating the tires, but it could have just been a delay.

Did you shop around? Same tire is $2081 at Americas/Discount Tire. It is good to know that other shops carry the tire. Did they have their own jack pucks or did you have to supply your own?

Don’t you love that feeling on the road after installing new tires? I get the same feeling with new bicycle tires or vehicle tires. I change bicycle tires 2-3 times per year (once a year due to tire damage from cuts). That’s about $540/year for bike tires

I did not really shop around. There is no Discount Tire near me and I like the service at Les Schwab. I pondered switching to the 20" but didn't want the hit on range and more $$ for new wheels. If I am honest I will likely benefit from those tires abut 2% of the time. SomedayI would like to have both...

Ha ha, I am a cyclist too. I get more excited about new tires on my bike TBH!

One took a few minutes to update. I am still not entirely convinced they correspond with the screen. If I get extremely bored, in a few week I will try letting the air out of one of them to verify.

You can trust they are registering to the correct tire. They time the signal to get the distance from the receiver. I’ve rotated my tires twice and after 5-10 minutes on the next drive they are all set.

I went with Michelins on my 22”. Those Pirellis were complete garbage with little to no tread. This is a truck, not a car!!

I spent less than that on wheels AND tires building a 20" set with AS tires. During summer, I'm getting 21" efficiencies.

Which load version did you go with? E1 or XL? I need to order but the XL’s are no longer available at Discount tire. Says available April 2024. I don’t think I can wait that long.
