R1S Leasing Timeline?

Wondering if there has been any conjecture on when Rivian might offer leases on the R1S? This might have been discussed in other threads but didn't find anything recent.

I'm a 6/22 reservation holder and have had access to the shop since maybe late Oct/early Nov. I've been holding off, for my situation leasing would be far preferable. I've been looking hard at the R1Ts, considering these instead because they're available, but if I had the choice the R1S is my preferred.

Just curious, has there been any rumor/guess on when R1S leasing is expected? If it was available now I'd be ordering today.

Same, I'm ineligible for the federal rebate. Have my order on hold at the moment, but would lease tomorrow if it was available on R1S

It'll happen this year, all speculation of course. Probably will expand leasing to more states too.

I agree with this. Leasing is a demand trigger. I expect they will pull this lever once they are through the R1S backlog. It's still a several months wait for an R1S.

Rivian should also start producing the standard battery pack units which will also trigger some more demand.

Pure speculation on my part.

Wow interesting, this morning 1/9 all the R1T lease prices appear to have increased by $25-30 per month.

I am considering leasing the R1T if it seems like it might be a long wait to lease the R1S, and the one I'd been looking at (PDM, El Cap, BM, 21) went from estimated $794 to $822. Looking at other configs it appears they did an across the board lease price increase.

I tried to look and it ask me if I wanted to create a new order? If you aren't in a state where leasing is available it won't even let you look

Leasing is only available for R1 shop vehichles without a pre-order at this time. If you have a pre-order, you can't lease yet

Not true! I just confirmed with my guide a few minutes ago. Leasing should be an option upon selecting a configuration from the shop! No cancellation of the pre-order or refund of the deposit needed!

That's interesting, mine said the exact opposite: that I couldn't lease with the current pre-order and would have to submit a new order from the shop to lease

Let us know if you are successful leasing with your pre-order

Mine is in the process of trying to confirm either way. Leasing off pre price-hike pricing would be amazing.

I also asked for clarification. I bet there are a lot of us in this boat. Leasing gets me the $7500 that I'm otherwise locked out of

Asked my guide for clarification. They reiterated that I'd have to initiate a second order and lose the deposit on my pre-order to lease.
