I've taken the leap and ordered one. Probably going to pair it with a Baja Designs S8 light bar, and some chase lights I already down.

I've been waiting for a prinsu-style rack that wasn't as tall as the overland ruff rack one.

FYI The Overland Ruff Rax is 5" high at roof edge and uses 3"x1" extrusion instead of 2"x1" ProSpeedRack.
Factory Crossbars are 4"
Does anyone have measurement on ProSpeedRack, Spider or any of the others?

you can get a pretty good idea based on the height relative to the fin.

any update to how you like the rack? What was the mpg hit. Any pics of the mount?

Haven't recieved it yet! I hit up the company a day or so ago and they're anodizing the billet roof mounts for the racks, and they'll be shipped out shortly after. Hopefully it'll just be another week or two until I get it installed.

Don't worry, I'll go ham on the images when I get it!

How did you get in touch with them? I ordered 12/3 and reached out to them via their listed email last week, no response, called them twice, no response, DM’d on Instagram, no response.

I DM'd them on instagram from my truck account. Took them a day or so to respond.

They put a post up today showing the billet roof mounts just fresh from machining. My order went in 10/31, I feel you on the "where's my rack!" vibes, but they're working on getting them out the door from what I can tell.

My rack has shipped. It's coming from SoCal, and I'm in NorCal, so it probably won't take too long to get here.

I'll take a huge pile of pictures once it's in. I'm planning to install it right away onto the truck to get a bunch of pictures and measurements, but then it'll probably come back off for a while so I can finish planning what I'm working on for it.

OK, got my rack on. I'll get more pictures as requested, but it looks like @HAL9000 covered most of it there.

Pros:

  • Nice billet mounts. It's a clever method to use U bolts through billet blocks, keeps the rack above your roof glass nicely.
  • They pack the parts into separate little sections of a bag so it's easy to figure out what parts go where.
  • The rack is very sturdy once installed.
  • The rack is easy to install solo, would be super easy with a friend.
Cons:
  • My kit was missing a split washer. It's not a big deal because I didn't use their non-locking nuts, instead choosing my own stainless nylock hardware. I aggressively use my gear, so I don't intend to get anywhere close to vibrating a bolt loose.
  • No loctite. Lots of steel fasteners going into the aluminum extrusion crossbars. A little tube of loctite would have been nice for those that don't have it in their garage all the time.
  • The QR code on the fastener bag says to visit their site for install instructions, but the page it takes you to has no instructions for the R1T. I wound up installing it without instructions.
  • (entering manufacturing engineer territory of nitpicking) The shop that did their waterjet or laser (hard to tell which through the very low quality powder coat) left cut tabs all over the place, and didn't fully deburr the parts prior to powdercoating.
  • The powdercoating is not very good. It is chipped in multiple places (mostly inside of slots, inside tight corners). There is plenty of evidence in the chipped powdercoat areas that it's due to improper part prep. Clean yer daggone parts and they won't look this bad!
  • I am skeptical that the mild steel U bolts used to anchor the roof rack will survive without rusting. Using a stainless U bolt would be a good idea. Hopefully I'm wrong here.
  • My baja s8 light bar needs a special bracket to mount to this rack. The product page makes no mention of this.
  • Most importantly, the front fairing does not adjust low enough to seal the gap between it and my roof. This leads to really bad wind noise. It's possible my truck is early enough that the roof panel alignment hadn't been nailed yet, I know rivian took a while to get that dialed (and is still working on it), but extending the slot a little bit would negate this issue.

Here's a picture trying to show the gap between the fairing and the roof. Note that I added edge trim to try to close the gap further, but it's still just not adjustable enough to get close to my roof.

From a further distance, you can see the size of the gap (~1/2" or so):

The result of the gap is a very loud wind sound at just 45mph, and a howl at highway speed.

@HAL9000 was able to get his wind noise issue resolved.
Not sure how he did it though.
@EVLander also has the rack and seems to have been able to resolve the wind noise problem.
Maybe one of them can give you some pointers.
