How to report street speed limit errors

So: Rivian Driver+ chose 35mph on a road (nav posted speed limit). It is 25 the entire way (map has the beginning and end at 25,) . Officer pulls me over, and I think because of the 2 well behaved kids in the back all I got was a warning and two Badge stickers! Very grateful.
So: how do I report this map error?

Oh , he also complained about a rolling stop. I tried waiting at a stop until Rivian’s filtered MPH speedometer reaches zero . I can’t do it. I can’t . … that’s an eternity at stop, waiting for the speedometer to catch up.,,

I think it's using the camera for that, so it's not programmed errors, it's visual text recognition errors. I think I saw a 85mph come up once in NY, where we have NEVER had more than 65mph.

I can't wait to see it misdetect our "END 45 MPH SPEED LIMIT" signs, which means 55mph. Haven't taken it on one of those roads yet.

Rivian gets its data from mapbox. And mapbox gets it from Open Street Map.

Open street map is a crowdsourcing application, so you can edit the data there and it will eventually make its way to Rivian.

My observations are Apple Maps uses mapped speed limits, but my truck seems to only use text recognized from the cameras. I think I only get speed limits in the center display after passing a speed limit sign. It is mostly accurate in recognizing the correct speed limit.

Driver+, or more accurately the Adaptive Cruise Control that you were using, doesn't set itself according to speed limits anymore and has never reduced speed based on the limits. You were going 35 when you set it, and you failed to adjust it down with the limit.

Dont think it reads speed limit signs. At least I know my truck doesn’t.

Certainly doesn’t read signs. Rivian gets most of Seattle wrong.

That is too cheap and obviously prone to error. Rivian should be doing better.

It does. Many users have posted specific instances that prove the vehicle does use machine vision for speed limits, but also uses map data. There was a short time (a few update cycles) where the vision system was turned off, but it's back.

You can make your own speed limit sign and test the system as well if you need more proof...

Doesn’t for me. Still displays the wrong speed limit after passing an obvious spied limit sign.

In recent OTA, I think they added option to choose current speed or posted speed limit. Should be in vehicle settings.

EDIT: Never mind. It was 2023.34 when the option was added. Then in 2023.42 it was revised to:

When you’re not driving on a divided highway, Adaptive Cruise Control now engages at the current vehicle speed regardless of the setting.

They did, but it was removed after only one (...maybe two) update for ACC. Now it is only an option for HWA. OP was using ACC.

To be fair, it seems to be ubiquitous. There are a few roads around me that are wrong in Apple Maps, Google Maps, and the Rivian maps. All three have the same listed speed limit, which is wrong and its a big interstate highway.
