Saw this video. The author felt cybertruck's offroading capability seems to be limited by its software.

Too much pressure in the suspension and auto-hold turned off. I could duplicate this in my R1T but the front wheel would still be trying to turn forward. Here’s the relevant clip:

Transitioning from mostly flat to uphill and uneven ground means having to push the throttle down a lot. I just don't see anything resembling that in this short clip. There were three wheels with traction potential. Even with front right off the ground, it should have made it over

I guess I’m not sure what you’re referring to. I’ve done plenty of obstacles like this on the R1T. Wouldn’t really have to press the accelerator down much more, other than to maintain consistent forward momentum. Yes, the front right wheel would have spun a bit (on quad motors at least) but the other wheels would have had plenty of traction to get over.Transitioning from mostly flat to uphill and uneven ground means having to push the throttle down a lot. You lose 1/4 of the output when one of the wheels lifts off the ground like this in rock crawl mode. FWIW I've never seen you post anything with your Rivian off-roading, maybe I've just overlooked it?I guess I’m not sure what you’re referring to. I’ve done plenty of obstacles like this on the R1T. 1/4 loss of output isn’t a big deal here. Especially with 3 wheels with good traction. You lose 1/4 of the output when one of the wheels lifts off the ground like this in rock crawl mode. FWIW I've never seen you post anything with your Rivian off-roading, maybe I've just overlooked it.
Loss of momentum, loss of power, for sure it's going to want to roll backwards without getting on the throttle more. I can't believe I'm defending the cybertruck here1/4 loss of output isn’t a big deal here. Especially with 3 wheels with good traction.
So, you’re saying that because I don’t share my off-roading vids here, that I don’t off-road? Mostly, I go with a buddy or two with their cars too and we don’t really stop to record ourselves. But I off-road in Hollister Hills mostly, and sometimes in central California.
I imagine the truth lies somewhere in between the "too early to criticize" and "Tesla shouldn't have let it go to market like this".Saw this video. The author felt cybertruck's offroading capability seems to be limited by its software.
From the video: either the driver just let go of the accelerator and hit the brakes for some reason, or the CT software and/or motors aren’t performing properly. This video isn’t the first instance where the truck doesn’t get proper traction off-road.Loss of momentum, loss of power, for sure it's going to want to roll backwards without getting on the throttle more. I can't believe I'm defending the cybertruck here![]()
Haha, @DuoRivians , he's subtlety hinting that you don't know what you are talking about. @Dark-Fx , why would anyone need to post social media proof that they have experience in something like this? Some of us are content with our privacy and lack of fake-Internet-points.You lose 1/4 of the output when one of the wheels lifts off the ground like this in rock crawl mode. Also sprinkle in a possibility of YouTuber trying to get views/reactions/attention and grow their channel.I imagine the truth lies somewhere in between the "too early to criticize" and "Tesla shouldn't have let it go to market like this".
