Here’s the relevant clip:

edit: in the full video, you can see a stock 4Runner and Subaru Crosstrek make it over.

Here’s the relevant clip:

Too much pressure in the suspension and auto-hold turned off. I could duplicate this in my R1T but the front wheel would still be trying to turn forward.

There were three wheels with traction potential. Even with front right off the ground, it should have made it over

Transitioning from mostly flat to uphill and uneven ground means having to push the throttle down a lot. I just don't see anything resembling that in this short clip.

Same thought here. The rest of 3 tires were still touching the ground so should be able to provide enough traction and climb over. Although I have never taken my R1S to offroad, I think either R1S or R1T should not have any problem with this incline.

I guess I’m not sure what you’re referring to. I’ve done plenty of obstacles like this on the R1T. Wouldn’t really have to press the accelerator down much more, other than to maintain consistent forward momentum. Yes, the front right wheel would have spun a bit (on quad motors at least) but the other wheels would have had plenty of traction to get over.

Not true. It's the most successful mode of transportation ever invented. It's a "game changer" :lipssealed:

You lose 1/4 of the output when one of the wheels lifts off the ground like this in rock crawl mode. FWIW I've never seen you post anything with your Rivian off-roading, maybe I've just overlooked it?

1/4 loss of output isn’t a big deal here. Especially with 3 wheels with good traction.

So, you’re saying that because I don’t share my off-roading vids here, that I don’t off-road? Mostly, I go with a buddy or two with their cars too and we don’t really stop to record ourselves. But I off-road in Hollister Hills mostly, and sometimes in central California.

Loss of momentum, loss of power, for sure it's going to want to roll backwards without getting on the throttle more. I can't believe I'm defending the cybertruck here :p

I imagine the truth lies somewhere in between the "too early to criticize" and "Tesla shouldn't have let it go to market like this".

I would be disappointed in anyone saying "it's a complete failure" and "you are doing it wrong". As one of the most avid critics of the CT since it rolled up to me six feet away at the unveiling, I have to believe that some of the advancements in performance, steering, and 48v LV are lost in the noise of a hard miss on range, 4860s, pure hideousness, leaky vault, life threatening edges, single option tires, ugliness, poor headlights, and crappy styling.

From the video: either the driver just let go of the accelerator and hit the brakes for some reason, or the CT software and/or motors aren’t performing properly. This video isn’t the first instance where the truck doesn’t get proper traction off-road.

But a stock 4Runner and Subaru Crosstrek made it over, and both of those drivers were new to off-roading too. That’s in the full video.

Haha, @DuoRivians , he's subtlety hinting that you don't know what you are talking about. @Dark-Fx , why would anyone need to post social media proof that they have experience in something like this? Some of us are content with our privacy and lack of fake-Internet-points.

Also sprinkle in a possibility of YouTuber trying to get views/reactions/attention and grow their channel.
