It’s a box and a manual transfer switch. No? You’re talking $500 if you know what you’re doing or $1500 otherwise.
If anything it also takes away competition feature. Don’t discount things other people want. I’ll find it extremely useful and not spend 10k for a generator while enjoying my awesome truck.
Not discounting it at all. I just anticipate the electrical work will be more than that. I will definitely be pleasantly surprised if its the prices you are hoping for

Don’t see why it would be any different than wiring for a generator. The key apparatus is a transfer switch Which doesn’t really care what the power source is.

Fair enough. I was simply stating if you hookup a generator to your main CB at your house today. All’s you need is a seperate box for what you want to power and a manual transfer switch when power goes out. Then the generator will feed the box. It’s obviously a slight bit more complicated and can get more expensive (auto transfer and whole home power).
But with losing power 2-3 times a year for 1-2 days, this would be a welcome respite. When I lose power I don’t really drive anywhere anyway.

wiring for a generator would be an expensive ordeal in my house. I looked into years ago and was like, damn!! To be clear I was looking into a whole home standby natural gas generator.

I felt like RJ glossed over this a little bit. He talked about the tie in to Insurance but I wanted a little bit more firm answer about being able to view and download videos from the system. Maybe not from an accident.... Say I drive a cool trail and want to grab some footage.... or more of a sentry mode where the car is parked. He talked about an accident but didn't really clarify control of the footage or if it will indeed monitor the car while parked. And I agree it definitely bring's up privacy concerns for some folks if the insurance companies can just grab the data for themselves...
I mean, that was the question he was asked wasn't it? She asked him if she could download it and send it to her insurance company (going off memory, so I could be wrong).

It’s more than a switch. You’ll need a separate sub panel with so e of your breakers moved over. you shouldn’t transfer over all of your 200 amp panel to be covered by a 48 or 80 amp inverter.

Yes that was what I meant by a box or “panel”. I was not trying to say you also need another X number of breakers. You also need wire too!!!
It’s really not that expensive.

EDIT-I’m done hijacking this thread. Today was awesome! I’m back baby!!!

The information session/Q&A was simply amazing. I would have loved to join and ask some very technical questions as well as use my racing history to have a ton of fun!

A lot of neat pictures updated in the first post. My Take Aways from everything including the Q&A Session:

  • Counted from 2mph to 60mph in 3 seconds (so 4 with a non rolling start with A/T's ).
  • Tank Turn will be enabled eventually for safety reasons (Make Sense)
  • Driver+ will be great!
  • Dashcam always on recording is a feature and will help lower Insurance Cost
  • RAN will take time but going as fast as possible.
  • In House Cell Design is happening.
  • V2V charging eventually, V2L/V2H coming not at launch but after.

Yeah, I could see the concern. I definitely don’t want a nanny cam in the cabin, need to know more about what data they collect. The last thing I need is them calling me saying ““sir, we had to deny your claim because we heard you say right before your accident “hey y’all, watch this!”” ?
Or “Here, hold my beer”

how'd you go from 3 to 4 sec with the rolling start? I'm not following.

@DuckTruck if that's the case, you better be in line for a Doug Demuro [for quirks and features], insideevs[range testing] and TFL[off road testing] video reviews. I'm sure they'll fly to wherever you are ?
That would be so much fun! I'd love to be a part of any, or all of it!

He's having me drive it to Colorado for Kyle and the TFL guys to review. Big sacrifice by me.
(@DuckTruck you like how I'm stealing your trick? lol)
SeaGeo,

If someone in an RJ costume comes to my door on Halloween and says "Trick or Truck!", I'll know it's you! ?

12 Seconds
Ah. So rounding error (there's not way it takes 1 sec to go from 0 to 2 mph). Right? Unless I'm misunderstanding you 2 to 60 in 3, or 0 to 60 in 4?
