Hi everyone, the front console box has only 2 usb-c ports and I have an external HDD plugged into one of them. The inductive charger just doesn't work with my iphones (14pro and 12 mini) and now I need 2 charging cables (usb-c and lightning). Most hubs I see on amazon say they're not for charging but to connect devices to a computer (e.g. https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Adapter-Multiport-Splitter-MacBook/dp/B0C4DFB8RH). I do want to be able to fast charge my phone - what are other rivian owners doing? Is there a recommended product that works well? Also, is Rivian going to fix the inductive chargers? They've gone totally dark on that.

Another option is to move the external disk onto a hub with a pass through power so I have two charging ports (one from the hub and one from the freed up port in the console).

I bought the dual wireless charger from TWRAPS which utilizes one port and the other port for my hard drive.

Rivian R1T/R1S - MagSafe Compatible Dual Wireless Charger – TWRAPS
If you go the Twraps route use code EO10 and you get 10% off.

For wired only other option is a powered usb-c hub or longer USB c cables. You can use the 120v plug under the rear display or run longer cable to either the rear display or seat back USB c ports.

I'm still hoping Rivian will restore the 12v power port to under the main display. It's needed for so many things to include fast wired charging.

I keep a longer USB-C cable plugged into the rear center console and route it between the driver's seat and center console. Not the cleanest/prettiest but works well for me.

I have been using this product, and it works well to split USB C power.

Same, done this from day one so the cable doesnt not come from the front dash, it plugs into the phone the right direction and disappears under the seat/between the seat and center console back to the rear display USB. Those are also POWER only USB ports, the ones in the center console are power/data. I didnt want the data/USB prompts on my phone.

I replaced the wireless charger with the stow and charge from adventurehightech (someone linked above) it works great for me.

The 2 ports I have an HDD plugged into one and these cables are in all my cars (never know what phone your passenger will have). They are multi-head (USB-C, apple, USB mini) ... also nice that they are USB or USB-C feed end. So it's a versatile cable for travel. Not the most durable, but it's useful and cheap. I will say the one in my vehicle is a year old and works perfectly fine. The one in my travel bag stopped working, but it came in a three pack for like $15 so not a big deal. The travel bag one I wind and unwind, stuff in pocket or bag and gets a lot more abuse than the one in the car (which probably gets MORE actual use, but not folded up and smashed all the time)

@fishtacos Another vote for the stow-n-charge. It utilizes the factory plug for chargers so you dont take up any of the usb-c plugs in the center console. I can also confirm it works great with my 14+ and my wifes 14 Pro.
I haven’t tried them all but chose this one too.

besides changing the wireless charging you have other options folks don't even think about

The rear display has usbc x 2, plug in your phone cable there, and bring it between the seat and console forward you've got 2 more usbc there *or, from the headrest*

2nd option for those that have the 12v cig adapter under the dash, get a hub that works off that, I bought this one, it has 3 usb A and 3 usb C, the Hub's can't draw enough power off the usb C that's why usb C hubs won't work to get you the extra plugs you want.

I take it all of you don't have the 12v outlet under the dash? Or...have you looked? Some people don't know that they do have it. I have heard that it was removed in VINs above about 12000. This is where I connect my dashboard dock.
