I have the aw09 and loved the look. As far as AT tires at 275/60/20. There are so many choices. I have the Nitto Ridge Grappler on my Silverado and love the way it looks and it is 116 Load rating which means Discount tires will install it.
That’s the other thing that made me worry, the disclaimer discount tire won’t mount it if it’s not in spec. 116T?

115 load rating is plenty for the Rivian. However, discount tires are very by the book. Unless they changed it in their system, they wouldn't mount it. I would definitely check with your local discount tires first. But any mom and pop shops would mount it for you with 115 loading rating tires.

I’ve read many posts about wheels. Some say get 275/60 because the wheel diameter matches the 21” road tires. Others that go 20” end up getting the 275/65 (oem spec?).
Overall diameter (and circumference) of the tire is what matters here. Not the wheel. If you want to avoid time and expense of reconfiguring your Rivian's software, you want to keep your overall tire diameter as identical to your factory configuration as possible. This would keep distance traveled per each single full revolution of the tire the same or very close to what your software assumes. This would keep all your instrument displays (such as speed), plus trip and range calculations well within spec. And negate need for you to compensate by doing calculations of your own... or having to request Service for a software re-flash. Wassym said recently that in the future owners will be able to do this on their own, without a Service visit. But no insight on timing.

Bookmark this tire comparison calculator as your go-to resource: https://tiresize.com/comparison/ Other useful resources are on the same site.

275/60R20 is only 0.3% larger than your stock 275/55R21. In a mile, it would have turned 612 revolutions instead of 613.

275/65R20 is 3.5% larger than your stock 275/55R21. In a mile, it would have turned 592 revolutions instead of 613.

Difference in ground clearance between 275/60R20 and 275/65R20 is about 0.5".

I work for Goodyear and am on the design team that worked with Rivian to develop the 275/60R20 Wrangler Territory AT for Rivian R1 Gen 2. In my opinion, it is a nice mix of efficiency, rugged looks and an all around great tire.

The new Goodyear 275/60R20 option was just recently released. Here is the link...
https://www.goodyear.com/en_US/tires/wrangler-territory-at/24354-73409564000000.html?back=tireFinder

Unfortunately, the image shown is currently not the new Rivian tire. I have raised this issue internally with my fellow Goodyear associates. Hopefully it will be addressed soon.

Tire Rack also has the the new Goodyear in stock. ...

As mentioned, this tire is brand new. Any reviews listed would be for Territory AT tires designed specifically for other vehicles.

Attached are some images of my R1T with the new Goodyear tire. I am a big fan of the truck and the tires!

I Like Goodyear tires. About 5k miles ago I installed GY Wrangler Trailrunner AT and I couldn't be happier. Hope they won't start making noise as OEM Pirelli does after 10k miles :)

Any plans to do this model in 275/65?

Hi Mandarin, glad to hear the TrailRunners are treating you well. As of now Goodyear, does not have plans for a Rivian specific 275/65 option.

I ordered Atomic 20-inch Wheels [AWR1] and am moving from the 22-inch Rivian. I wanted more sidewall for light offroading and also a lighter wheel tire combo. I am going with the 275/60 20 with the Nokian Outpost NAT. The current 22-inch Rivian set-up weighs 83 lbs, and going with the Atomic Wheels and Nokian Outpost NAT, it will weigh 73 lbs.

Your desire for all terrain style tires, leads to a problem...tire weight on those is usually considerably heavier than all season tires. I got the AWZ1 wheels (due to light weight...actually I'm the one that initiated the special order for this rim), so I wanted a light weight tire that still had load capacity, which is why I have General Grabber HTS60 in 275/60R20 size on those wheels. I do have a separate set of wheels (Dodge 1500) with BFG AT T/A KO2 tires, in the same size...but that combo is nearly 30 pounds heavier (wheel + tire), and hence does affect range. But that's my offroad/winter set of tires, so range is going to be affected anyway.

yeah it’s something I’ve come to expect, so it’ll definitely be my winter tire

Wow - didn't realize it has so much open area, should be solid for rain/snow/ice, curious to see how the efficiency is since it's definitely AT-oriented...

Those look awesome, nice choice!
2 very impressive aspects of this tire:
It's a lightweight LT (only 46#)
It has 18/32 tread depth, similar tires in this weight range are 13-14 only...
Price is reasonable at $318...
[Riviot - think this might be the one you are looking for!]

What is the betraying on these? I’d use during winter where I have more rain and very little snow to no snow.

Would love to see some post-1k miles efficiency numbers! Specifically a 65mph round trip of 20+ miles, or a good 500+ mile regular commute info.
