I have a couple of friends with Rivians and I usually get the updates before them but did not this time. No worries. What's a few days. Besides, if there are any issues, it gives us a bit of time to sort it out.

I was in the same boat but reached out to Rivian Support in-app and the first person I connected with transferred me to the OTA team, who were able to manually push the update to my vehicle after confirming some basic details (email address etc...).

They said it would take a few hours to all go through – and it did... currently installing updated ~5hrs after contacting Rivian support, which I think is solid. For reference, I am at my office and have very fast wifi covering where car is parked now so download portion was quick. Rivian Support person said they continue to prioritize OTA updates based on random batching + wifi connectivity (wifi connectivity users get it sooner).

That is a terrible implementation and tactics.

What is Rivian going to do when the fleet of customer vehicles are over 200k, 300k and beyond. If the company is to survive and R2 to be success, they need a better approach.

It seems to me that by the time the final group gets the current update, some are already receiving the next update. They need regionalized data centers that focuses on those areas simultaneously. None of these "random batching" stuff.

Totally agree... I asked them what they would say to their customers who live in a city and park in underground garages, or live in a rural area where the garage and house have any meaningful distance between them.

Should be neither difficult nor expensive to temporarily run a surged cloud compute bill and just push everything at once. Agree they need to have the "tech" side nailed to reach a meaningful scale/adoption level.

After reading last Thursday (4th of July) I should connect to Wi-Fi, I grabbed one of my Verizon test phones & connected "Tarkus" to it & 30 mins later got a message "download available for installation" Proceed Y/N?
Sorry to hear Wi-Fi not working for others.

No update for me either. Can’t use WiFi this summer and my phone reception is poor. The car reception is better than my phone but no update yet for me.

Have you tried connecting your vehicle to WiFi?

I got the update after I returned home from a road trip and connected to my WiFi.
Just for kicks I disconnected and reconnected my wi-fi. Nothing happened ...

... until now, a couple of hours later! Just got the prompt to download on my app. Thank you, friend.

This delay is just normal. They rotate through the fleet of cars (that can be a good thing so hopefully they don't push a bad release). Sometimes I'm early, sometimes I'm really late. I got mine on Sunday.

Yup nothing unusual with the delay - some of us are just impatient ?.

Service said that they release it in batches. We should get it within 2 weeks.

Im usually an early recipient, but I also haven't received it yet. Also moved to a new town recently, which I had assumed was the reason why.
Yes, forwarding updates to a new address tends to delay the updates. You probably should have filed a Change of Wireless Location with Rivian. :)

I got impatient and got on a chat with service - they pushed it to my truck a few hours later and I installed last night

The solution for me was: have service push the latest version of the previous software first, then this new one would install.
