How-to Extract your key card chip (to put in anything else - i.e. watch band)

I came across this today.
I had not seen it come through here yet, and didn't see anything in search.

In the video they soak our Key Card in Acetone to extract the chip.
Then, you can then put that chip in anything.
They put it in their watch band.

Not sure what I would do with it, but I found the information interesting.

FWIW, you can occasionally find Rivian wristbands on Ebay. I paid $75 for mine IIRC, and Rivian paired it to my R1T with just one phone call to CS (at no charge as well).

All listings I’ve seen ask outrageous prices. One joker wanted $700. Plus, there were some posts a few months ago about change in Rivian’s policy, citing security concerns.

Yes. Submit service ticket and you’ll be passed to your SC who will then contact you about cost.

I paid $30 for the card $40 for programming back in March.
