Anyone Black Out Front Skid Plate?

Has anyone blacked out their front skid plate? If so, how did you do it? How has it held up? Pics? I don't love the grey color. Local shop recommends paint. $1,700 for front and back.

I haven't done it but if I were going to do it I would use vinyl or colored ppf. Painting. It will be permanent at least with vinyl. If you decide later on you want to put it back to stock. For whatever reason, you would simply remove the vinyl or the ppf to restore the stock appearance.

It has held up great on Texas roads.

I went with the matte black to match the bumper material. I also did the rear as well.

Hopefully save you $1500 and it ain't too bad attaching the vinyl. I have very little experience and just took my time. ? Just like others said, you can easily remove it if you plan to change your mind down the road. Low investment.

Gloss black PPF on the "skid plate" and rear trim to contrast with the matte wrap on the rest of the car.

Any update on your "project"? Curious to see if this works better than Plasti Dip. I like the release agent, no need to mask the tire so it should save some time. Might even be ok to leave the wheel on the truck?

No, nothing yet. I have not had the time. At the time I purchased the DYC paint I was planing on blacking out my badging too. Since then Ive gotten blacked out badging online and will remove the OEM and replace with he black out. I will post when completed.
