Typical time from order placement until some sort of human contact?

Hey guys- new here- thanks for all your help and insights, it has been massively helpful to date.

Just placed our order for a dual motor max custom build (without roof)...

Any idea how long it took someone to reach back out to you.. or.. maybe just acknowledge that you've just agreed to make a 100k purchase? haha

perhaps I'm just too old school for this new age direct-to-consumer selling model they're so proud of.

With a custom build it’s probably more likely to take longer before you hear from them. It feels weird but I’d still rather do it this way vs. going through the dealership BS ever again. Rivian could definitely do a better job with communications during the entire process, though.

I agree wholeheartedly..never dealer bs again... I've got an EV tax in Jersey starting at 3 in a third percent on October 1st which I'm trying to beat out...also, placed the order begining of the month assuming this means we are able to get the 2.9 rate.. do you guys know if the truck has to be fully delivered or the purchase process has to be fully confirmed prior to the oct1 to get this solidified? Thanks for your help guys

I can’t speak to the law in NJ, but in CO (and for federal incentives) it’s based on the day you take physical possession of the vehicle.

When did you place the order? I placed mine on August 30th and have not had contact beyond acknowledging the receipt of the order and the email to set up an account. To be fair though, I ordered right before a long holiday weekend, so, I expected some delay before they reached out.

I am being patient at this point. There is a fine line between anxious excitement and demanding consumer. I hope to thread that line carefully.

You can try emailing your Guide, if they've populated that info on your profile. Check the Contact Us link after you log in and check if they've assigned someone to you.

May I ask what is holding up your build? When I took the test drive, they stated custom orders for a R1T max pack configuration were between 1 and 6 weeks.

Gen2 R1S Red Canyon Adventure Dual Large here. Custom order placed June 18th.

No guide assigned, no human contact. I've been able to email the Experience Center rep who took me on a test drive, but he has no information beyond what I see in the Rivian portal.

And there have been near-nil Red Canyons in the Shop lately. Struggling to be patient.

I wish I knew, lol.
The delivery window states OCT-NOV and hasn't updated since I placed the order, and the only information I've gotten from my Guide is that they're waiting on a VIN to be assigned.

Ordered a custom R1T dual large on July 23. I have the order acknowledgment but still says processing estimate for delivery. Being patient but my 12 year old Tacoma is fading fast…….
