I know a lot of us have been having intermittent issues with Apple Music, but has anybody’s just stopped working completely? Always fails to connect, stuck signing out, no music playing despite several hard and soft resets?

mine has issues with connectivity and the volume level discrepencies. another issue is it plays but theres no volume until you lower/raise the volume then the sound comes on.
pretty sure Rivian is aware and next update will address some (hopefully most) of them.

It’s reasons such as these I don’t want CarPlay in Rivian. Rivian really needs to be able to have full control of their software to keep it consistent. Otherwise we’re at the mercy of other companies.

I’ve had some connection issues with it that I’m confident they can work out with future updates. At first I thought it might be an AT&T problem, but the signal appeared strong so I tried a soft reset and it immediately played properly afterward while sitting in the same parking spot. So it’s almost definitely an app problem.

It doesn’t work very well yet, but I believe they can fix it.

But, not having CarPlay is what is causing this issue. I’ve not seen many complaints about Apple music on. CarPlay…

Tesla also had problems during the initial roll out of Apple Music. It now works fine, without CarPlay.

Yeah, I've given up on Apple Music. It hardly works at all, and when it does, it's only a matter of time before it breaks again. Sometimes I can get it to work for a longer trip, but startup, searching, or manually changing tracks are all booby trapped.

I tried it again after the most recent update, thinking they'd improved the reliability, but it's the same or worse. I additionally had to sign out and reauthenticate again which was another annoyance.

Spotify isn't rock solid, but it doesn't have near the issues that Apple Music does. I'm sure Rivian rushed this feature out the door with the intention of getting more people to sign up for Connect+, but if I were already an Apple Music user, I'd definitely opt out of Connect+ until they make the app usable.

I'm back to just using bluetooth. Lol. Also, even after hard resets, the system is laaaaggy. I also think Connect + has messed up some things, somehow. My signal has been garbage since that rollout.

Funny thing is Apple Music worked better for me before the last update. I get what you’re saying, but being able to view gear guard feed live with this months update is more than enough for me to get connect+

I’ve been feeling that for quite a while, even before connect+. Basically every menu takes a few seconds to load up when swapping around

I gave up on Apple Music. Sounded great but was way too buggy for me. Supposedly the next update will help stabilize it.

Are you guys able to use Alexa to control Apple Music? I’ve linked the skill but I keep getting the message that Apple Music is not supported, which renders Apple Music useless while I’m driving.

Apple Music (and the audio system in general) is like 50/50 on whether I'll have a bug-free experience when I get in the truck. Issues seem to occur randomly:

  • No sound through the speakers from any source. Music shows it's playing or FM radio shows it's connected, but I get zero audio
  • Apple music can't resume a playlist from where it left off, even if I was only out of the truck for 30 seconds
  • Can't establish connection, even though LTE is showing active service
  • Menus and screens are terribly slow to refresh (30-60s) despite good connection

A soft reset or 3 typically fixes it all, but it's still a coin toss next time I get in.

Yes not good. Every time I try to use it recently it just loads "No Media available here" or some message on my Home Screen. If I try to just browse to a playlist then it just never plays.

If this is supposed to be my free trial of connect+ then Rivian is dropping the ball.... I guess my hotspot works if that is the thing they are selling.
